Justin Hibbard has over 15 years of experience working with startups. He is a true believer in entrepreneurship and is passionate about helping founders build lasting companies. Justin joined Propeller from Robert Half International, where he consulted on accounting projects for small businesses throughout the Bay Area. Previously, he was Controller at Laurel Burch Artworks in Mill Valley, California, where he gained experience in licensing, manufacturing, and e-commerce. Justin also worked as a research analyst for a hedge fund, a mutual fund complex, and an investment bank.
In addition to his accounting and finance skills, Justin is a Certified Fraud Examiner and licensed Private Investigator. He has investigated dozens of cases of alleged financial fraud and has consulted with businesses on fraud prevention. He first learned financial investigation as a business journalist, covering startups, venture capital, and finance for publications such as Red Herring and Businessweek.
Justin is active in his community and has served as Treasurer and board member at Playmates Cooperative, a 60-year-old nonprofit, cooperative preschool in San Francisco. He graduated from the University of California, Berkeley and studied accounting at Golden Gate University.
