June Ross

Aberdeen, Scotland, UK

At Your Event Scotland we know from personal experience how complicated it can be to organise the perfect event. We've done it ourselves and we understand the attention to detail required, the sourcing dilemmas, and the little last minute hitches that can cause a major headache. That’s why we believe our free-to-use, online one-stop-shop, providing a directory of everything you could possibly need, is the answer. Whether you're looking for a spectacular venue, stylish transport, special effects, an entertainer, a DJ, or JUST a simple cake, YourEventScotland can source them all.

We're not just an online service :

Your Event Scotland prides itself on a personal approach – you can talk to the people behind the site, pick our brains and get suggestions. Need to know how to organise a balloon release? Just ask. If you can't find what you're looking for online, just give us a call and we'll do everything we can to help you source that key element to make your event a complete success.

Based in Aberdeen, we travel the country sourcing premier quality, unique and bespoke suppliers, and personally try to vet all the listings on our site to ensure the highest standards of goods and services. We're currently populating our directory with the best venues and suppliers Scotland has to offer, so if you provide a fantastic service or venue, let us know.

Work History

Support Group for Victims of RTA's

DYFAM - Don't You Forget About Me

From June 2011

Following the loss of my first child - Ian, as a passenger, two days before his 23 rd birthday, I set up DYFAM - Don't You Forget About Me, after the Simple Minds song, which was the last song played at his funeral. We are not counsellors nor professionals - just unfortunately experienced in the loss of loved ones and the affects an RTA can have on everyone involved.

I have worked on various campaigns including launching Scottish TV countryside road safety with the Transport Minister, Keith Brown, Aberdeen and shire with Safe Drive Stay Alive, Highlands and Islands with Sensible Driving Always Arriving, First Minister re Graduated Licence Scheme and a number of others.
The Glasgow base of Irwin Mitchell solicitors pro actively use our Group to direct their clients in need of support.
Even the likes of pop band ' Scouting for Girls ' have personally endorsed us along with superstar DJ Fatboy Slim dedicating a personal tribute to Ian at Rockness this year, 2013 to the tune "Right Here Right Now"

Fundraising Fashion Show

Glitz and Glamour meets the Pipes and Drums

On Wednesday 17th a fundraising fashion show took place at the Forum in Aberdeen. The art deco style of the space was a fitting backdrop for a display of artistic flair. The stylish and diverse collections presented were a striking and exciting showcase of fashion across the genres. From embellished party wear to signature separates, hats and fascinators to kilts and morning suits, there was something for everyone. The uplifting strains of the pipes and the thud of the drums from the mini pipeband kept time to the beat of excitement. Indeed the displays by the highland dancers and pipers were a showcase of live traditional Scottish entertainment at its finest, rallying the audience to a chorus of clapping hands and tapping feet. The Scottish theme was also evidenced by the collection of kilts on display, a particular favourite amongst the crowd! The attire was of course striking but it was the volunteer models within it that caused much hilarity with their unique catwalk ‘poses’….

The diverse range of stalls exhibiting, from beautiful handcrafted jewellery to the essentials of healthy skincare, also perfectly complimented the theme of the evening, as well as providing a great opportunity to indulge in some retail therapy!

The entire night’s proceedings were overseen by the confident and charismatic Chris Henry, whose quick wit and engaging manner ensured a relaxed and happy crowd.

The abundance of generously donated raffle prizes also ensured that many people walked away with some fantastic gifts!

The unique fusion of music and fashion therefore combined to create an intriguing and exciting event.
