I am currently a social worker in the WAA community team South working on a daily basis with adults with physical and learning disabilities. I have worked for ECC for a total if twelve years, first employed as an assistant social worker and then being seconded by Essex County Council to undertake the BA (Hon's) Social Work Degree. I have been qualified for four years and my duties now include holding a complex caseload and I have undertaken the role of mental health link worker for the team and have specialised in working with people who have an Acquired Brain Injury.
This has allowed me to undertake specialist training in this area and provided me with the necessary knowledge and skills to impart continued support and guidance to all of my team members , including students and agency staff by supporting them with any complex case issues as they arise. I currently provide regular supervision for Assistant Social Workers and support them to complete their PMR and undertake QAF assessments as required.
I am competent when responding to adult/children safeguarding concerns , undertaking appropriate recording on ECC systems and making the necessary referrals to other professional agencies and working collaboratively with them and taking the role of coordinator throughout the SOVA process.
