Working within the property maintenance team liaising between tenants and several LPS receivers to ensure that basic maintenance issues were addressed, all safety legislation was adhered to (eg annual gas safety inspections) and that once instructed contractors carried out the appropriate works in the time frames specified. I was also the point of contact for external auditing by the LPA receivers ensuring that all processes adhered to ISO 9001 standards.

I acted as an initial point of contact between South West Water and the general public regarding their water and sewerage accounts (including debt collection). I also provided debt advice where appropriate and ensured that any customer complaints were dealt with in a timely and professional manner. The majority of enquiries were dealt with over the telephone in compliance with Accenture codes of practice and were monitored regularly to maintain adherence to standards.

My duties included dealing with written and telephone correspondence in relation to both property management and estate agency business, the preparation of tenancy agreements and property condition reports.
I was also responsible for ensuring that periodic maintenance inspections were carried out on all rental properties, gas and electrical appliance tests were carried out in line with government legislation and any neighbour complaints were dealt with in an appropriate manner.
I was unfortunately made redundant in September 2008
December 2005 - December 2007
My role included the day to day running of a large independent surveying practice, covering both Devon, Cornwall and Somerset. I was responsible for the preparation of all correspondence generated by the firm's managing director, arranging survey appointments for both the managing director and the other surveyors located in the other offices. I also helped generate new business through an internal referral system run in conjunction with a large chain of independent estate agents.
It was during this time that I undertook my first year of a Diploma in Surveying Practice but was made redundant in December 2007.

My duties included dealing with repair requests and complaints from housing association tenants both over the telephone and in person. I raised works orders where appropriate for repairs to be carried out to properties in Devon, Cornwall and Dorset. I also carried out tenant liaison visits in conjunction with the local housing officers, arranged for the collection of rent arrears and the reconciliation of all housing benefit payments from the relevant local authorities.

I was responsible for the housing of homeless families and individuals into both local authority and privately owned properties I supervised the tenancies, carried out home condition reports, collected rent arrears and compiled official documentation for county court evictions, I was also responsible for the arrangement of any reactive maintenance on occupied properties and regular inspections of any property left unoccupied for any period of time.

I was responsible for the coordination and administration of the head office that was appointed by the government to build the new Exeter to Bere Regis Bypass. I supervised two members of clerical staff, ensured that all procedures complied with ISO 9000 quality assurance procedures, and acted as liaison between local MP's and the Highways Agency on behalf of the Construction Site Manager.
This period of employment ceased when the final stage of the road was completed.

I was responsible for the letting of a portfolio of over 200 properties in the Exeter area on behalf of private clients, rent and deposit collection, collation of tenancy agreements and property inventories and the supervision of two part-time members of staff.
