Julie is LLB (Hons) qualified and undertook her LPC at the Chester College of Law. After qualifying in local government she moved into practice private, working at senior managerial level, before setting up her own consultancy in 2011.

Fixed 12 month contract assisting the Banking Litigation Department with new business opportunities in relation to both secured and unsecured debt for some of the UK's top lenders.
This role also involved undertaking QA work on behalf of internal teams, extensive networking to maximise the firm's exposure in the banking litigation field, designing and delivering associated staff training, providing key input into the tender process and managing operations across the Manchester and Leeds offices.

Overall management of the Repossessions Department - identifying and meeting varying client requirements whilst also ensuring full compliance with varying SLA's - management and control of departmental budgets - recognising and generating new business opportunities (for example, a new department to deal specifically with local authority debt) - liaising with internal departments to maximise business potential generally whilst also undertaking client PR for 6 of the UK's top mortgage lenders - regularly travelling throughout the UK attending client review and board meetings, evidencing performance as required and providing ad hoc legal updates to ensure full compliance with new legislation.
During this time Julie also implemented a new risk management strategy which duly received commendation from the Law Society and formed the basis of the firm's application for an Excellence Award.

Whilst Julie's role within the authority was to set up and manage a new debt recovery department, she then undertook her LLB (Hons) degree on a part-time evening/weekend basis and became Trainee Solicitor for the authority. This involved undertaking prosecutions and providing a wide range of legal advice to both the authority and its Councillors on various local government issues e.g. noise nuisance, employment law, environmental and planning prosecutions, housing benefit fraud etc.
