Sanitation Development Program Manager


January 2011 - December 2011

• Manage the Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) Programs operating in urban, schools and slum areas in 7 major cities in Kenya
• Manage the WASH and integrated solid waste management (ISWM) knowledge centre transition to merge into a communications department in the organization
• Design WASH projects, review the projects' design and impacts of the projects
• Monitor program implementation and arrange for consultation and technical assistance as appropriate.
• Continously and actively monitor and evaluate each WASH and ISWM program and report on program results.
• Manage the program budget and maintain up to date financial reports
• Establish and maintain patnerships with all the relevant stakeholders

• In 2011, organized a Mayors Conference on Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) Policies in Local authorities in Nakuru Kenya to reflect on the existing policies on WASH in Kenyan Local Authorities.
• In 2010, I was in the team that organized the global hand washing day that mobilized over 19, 352 people, among them being 18,302 children and broke the world record on the most people washing hands in the same place at the same time.
• Compiled the Compendium of water and sanitation actors in Kenya.
• In 2009, started managing a sanitation knowledge center that supported East and Central Africa as a hub for information and experience sharing involving communities as well as professionals for three years.
