The pandemic was a very difficult time for party entertainers everywhere. Our industry as a whole was deeply affected for a year and a half unable to work. During that time I took advantage of not working and acquired six certifications! Not only that, but I went back to school after 2 decades and acquired my NJ Natural Hair Styling Licensed. I also trained heavily in face painting infection control, disease prevention, passed the NJ state board exam with flying colors and acquired both Barbicide Certifications for both Covid-19 infection control and the regular Barbicide certification. Other artist's soon started to follow suit and also took the same Barbicide courses and Face Painting infection control certification online courses, which I am very happy to have started that trend in the face painting community. Education, safety protocols and preventative measures are super important while working at parties and events. I have a "mask compliant" design menu for people who simply feel safer wearing their mask. I wear a mask myself when required, am vaccinated and sanitize between every single person that sits in my chair. I also have a special organic cosmetic sanitizer that is in the cleaning water for all brushes and and gets sprayed into the paints themselves when cleaning.
