Great Health Naturally

Thank you for stopping by. My name is Amy, and I am a functional nutritionist and lifestyle guide who has a passion for encouraging healthy and mindful living. I help clients to regain their hope and health by applying actionable (but oh so often ignored) lifestyle and dietary changes. You are not crazy if standard protocols do not work for you. With my ability to drive and assess, we can solve your health issues with teamwork. I am on your side. I was trained at The College of Natural Nutrition, UK and became qualified in 2011. Recently, I completed a functional medicine mentorship with the Applied Functional Medicine Mentoring Program in the UK and am currently studying a diploma in eating psychology coaching. Although I live in Cape Town, South Africa I do consultations online from anywhere in the world. I have had three major health fall aparts myself in my life, and have learnt so much as a result about how to better help my clients in the clinical setting using food, functional lab testing and intuitive eating. When I am not consulting, I have several clients in the health industry who I provide content for (e-books, articles, social media management) which allows me to continue my love of researching. Most of my own articles contain suggestions based on solid science mixed with clinical evidence – as peoples health stories matter and can have deep value outside of the lab and a written theory in a journal. The clients I work with come from all backgrounds and ages, and usually come to me when they have exhausted all avenues. I have a real passion for: *working with children and families to encourage healthy relationships with food *working with women to uncover and resolve their hormonal issues *working with women to uncover and resolve their strained and sometimes health-damaging relationship with food *helping everyone achieve a healthy weight without counting calories and instead using intuitive eating and nutrition education

How important is a healthy diet to someone’s health and wellbeing?

Food is central to good health.
Food is the most powerful medicine.
Food should be used as an agent of change, not destruction to health as is common, as food can either be pro-inflammatory or anti-inflammatory with every bite.

What do you love most about your job?

I love helping clients get the food and health education they never got. Most schools all over the world do not teach adequate lessons on how to achieve great health on a longterm basis. I help clients connect the dots from their health timeline and become empowered and educated to improve their health with my guidance and ability to assess and drive.
You are not crazy if standard protocols do not work for you, first and foremost because you are not standard and you deserve individualised health and wellness advice. I bring this level of care to all my clients and help them flourish.

What inspired you to start your own business?

I struggled with endometriosis and IBS from a young age, and after getting sick and tired of doctors not being able to help me (their only options were operations and drugs) I discovered food was a powerful medicine through watching a nutritionist in the UK on TV helping people change their health and life with food. After my own success, I wanted to help other people transform their health by using food as medicine.

Why should our clients choose you?

Clients should choose to work with me because I give them thorough attention and individualised nutrition assessments and health plans they deserve to get to the bottom of their health issues.

I have got 10 years of experience and have many up to date tools in my practitioner toolkit to help clients, plus I am constantly doing CPD courses so my information is up to date and based on the latest scientific research.
