Q&As

A job that you love has got to be something that fulfils you, gives you a sense of purpose, brings you joy, and something that you are innately predisposed to do. Helping people is all of those things and more for me... It is so rewarding to see the progress of my clients, and any happiness I help them to achieve is a win!

I've always been an entrepreneur, I've started many businesses, some that failed and some that succeeded. Regardless of the "successful" outcome it taught me countless lessons, m and that led to me to where I am today... exactly where I should be. I’ve faced plenty of difficulties and uncertainty in my life, but each time I broke through the barriers in my path. It became more and more clear to me that my purpose was to help people realise their full potential.

I am a Coach and Counsellor. The combination of the two equips me with a unique insight, allowing me to understand my clients at a deeper level, by looking at their past, learning from their present, and focusing on their future.
I am naturally intuitive, instinctive and observant. I have a Psychology degree and I've done courses in many fields and methods of coaching and counselling.
I have been through a lot in my life and I have learnt from every experience whether it was good or bad. I have gained plenty of perspective, and worked hard to get rid of the propensity to judge others, that seems to be inherent in us all.
I want to inspire people... I want to be the reason someone doesn't give up... I want to succeed only because I helped others do so first.

Yes, I do online sessions via Zoom. I share my meeting ID and password with my clients, they join at the time we’ve scheduled.

We have moved the practice completely online, onto Zoom.

Personal Development covers all the activities that improve a person’s self-esteem, well-being and relationships. A Personal Development Coach will guide you through any (or all) of these. A Personal Development Coach will help you discover your purpose in life. Typically people who need this kind of coach put others needs above their own, never getting to let go or be themselves. WHAT IS AN ANXIETY COACH?

Anxiety Coaching is about teaching you anti-anxiety skills, providing support and accountability, and helping with motivation. A coach helps clients understand the science behind how anxiety works, teaches you how to calm your body and mind, and in turn how to break the anxiety cycle. The coach will manage physiological reactions and cognitive distortions, change negative behaviours and expose your fears. This will decrease the unhelpful type of anxiety while preserving the type that can be beneficial. This all happens in a supportive and empathic coaching environment.

WHAT IS A LIFE COACH?

Life Coaching is defined as “partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximise their personal and professional potential.”
Essentially, it’s helping people become the best they can be, at home or at work, so they live a happy and successful life. This is achieved by guiding, mentoring and helping the client move in the right direction in their lives depending on what it is they want to achieve.
Since it covers such a broad scope you will find more specific disciplines, that I specialise in, under 'Services'.

COUNSELLING concentrates on a clients past and deals with healing emotional pain.
COACHING focuses on a clients present and future, with the goal of helping them to create and implement strategies so they can achieve specific goals in their life which will propel them towards their envisioned future.
In a COACHING relationship the emphasis is on goals, actions and accountability, the here and now.
In a COUNSELLING relationship the emphasis is on understanding and resolving the past for the purpose of healing.

Anger can be caused by many factors. It's sometimes triggered by external factors such as bullying, humiliation, and loss. Or internal factors, such as frustration or failure.
Anger is not always a reaction to a present circumstance. Sometimes a situation will unconsciously remind a person of a past experience. A person may then displace their anger about the past onto the present situation.
Anger typically has less to do with an event and more with how a person reacts to the event. Certain negative thought patterns often precede an outburst of anger.
The goal of anger management is to reduce both your emotional feelings and the physiological reaction that anger causes. You can't get rid of, or avoid, the things or the people that enrage you, nor can you change them, but I can teach you how to control your reactions.

I will help you identify any unhelpful patterns that might be contributing to your low self-worth, help you create new ways to feel confident, and gently guide you in understanding your personal attributes. I provide you with the tools to build confidence in social situations. Self-esteem counselling will help you make sense of who you are, and help you integrate new healthier ways of thinking about yourself.
Counselling can be extremely useful in helping you, the client, discover the origin of your confidence issues. I can also work with you on creating small, incremental goals that help you to slowly build your confidence and your experience of mastery in the world.

Relationship counselling is the process of sorting through the differences that cause stress on a relationship. Once the problem is known, we aim to recognise, and reconcile the situation so that it can be managed better.
I work on understanding the problem faced by the couple, learning about their relationship history, targeting their emotions and working on the changes needed for a healthier and happier life. The breakdown could be because of a communication gap between them, overly high expectations, extreme involvement of the extended family, sexual issues, lack of trust and understanding. After the couple expresses their concern, I work to find the solution to build a happier relationship/marriage.

Communication issues can potentially develop in any circumstance or social relationship. It can be easy for individuals to misunderstand or misinterpret others. These misunderstandings can lead to arguments or tension in personal, platonic, or professional relationships. In some instances, conflicts may arise, and these conflicts can make communication even more challenging. when exploring the reasons why communication issues occur or while working through any distress or difficulty that occurs as a result of frequent communication issues.

Stress and anxiety can be unpleasant to deal with and has negative effects on your physical health if untreated for long periods of time. While some amount of stress and anxiety in life is expected and shouldn’t be cause for concern, it’s important to recognize when the stress in your life is causing negative consequences.
If you feel like you’re unable to cope with stress and anxiety we can try a few different approaches of therapy, to see which works best for you. Like Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Exposure Therapy, or Systematic Desensitisation.

Conflict resolution therapy is an approach to treatment that seeks to teach people conflict resolution skills. It was designed primarily to help couples but can be used to address conflict in any situation, whether it arises in a family, between friends or romantic partners, at the workplace, or in any other situation.
The goal of conflict resolution therapy is to help all parties involved feel as if they have achieved a "win-win" scenario.
I teach conflict resolution skills to show clients how to redirect conflict without emotional detouring, it incorporates imagery and communication as the primary tools for exploration and resolution.
I teach skills that will allow you to unite when facing difficult situations, and encourage you to work together rather than combat each other in order to overcome difficult issues that may, if left unaddressed, lead to anxiety, depression, or contempt.
In the process of exploring these feelings, I can help those in counselling identify new behaviour patterns that can help them avoid engaging in negative actions and reactions in the future, and have more positive outcomes.

People with narcissistic personality disorder believe they’re extremely important and that the world revolves around them. They’re self-absorbed and don’t have time or interest in others unless it serves a purpose for them. They aren’t empathetic and don’t have the ability, or the interest, to understand what another person is feeling or experiencing. Narcissists crave attention and praise and can be demanding. They have grandiose views of themselves, their lives, and their futures, and they often use manipulation as a way of achieving their personal goals.
If you are dealing with a narcissist in your life or grew up with a narcissistic parent, you may have experienced 'gaslighting'. It is a form of persistent manipulation and brainwashing that causes the victim to doubt her or himself, and to ultimately lose one’s own sense of perception, identity, and self-worth. It's a verbal and psychological abuse that is insidiously cruel, with the intention of making a person doubt their own sanity. It destabilises you and can make you wonder about your own memory or perception of reality.

Habit-building is a useful way to approach many interventions, such as behavioural activation, relapse prevention, and self-improvement. I will teach you to use habits as a way if encouraging consistency in new behaviours, or as a way of replacing unwanted behaviours.
Positive habits are routines and processes that once implemented help to provide you, the client, with a regular dose of consistency. Which means a higher chance of success, of building a world outside of the sessions that feels comfortable and progressive.
Progressive, positive habits have been used for many years as one of the ways to reduce daily stress and anxiety. The act of engaging in positive routines or thinking has been in play and used as a strategy to combat many disorders like depression for many years, and has been recently implemented in many treatments for anxiety to help curb the mental stresses of coping with a mental disorder.
