In 1998 I enrolled at the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University, Port Elizabeth.
I loved the process of capturing images and then seeing it develop in a darkroom. I played around and experimented and throughout my career it’s been a vital part of my creative process, - to constantly explore and teach myself new things.

What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
Letting a situation unfold and wait for the right moment to capture the image, - to see beyond what’s in front of me.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
Full brief on the project, what the purpose of the images are and how it will be used.
For portraits: How many different looks? Will there be a makeup artist? Inside or outside?
For products: How many different angles? Styled and or deep etched?
For food: Will there be a food stylist?
What do you love most about your job?
I love visual communication and I’m constantly busy learning about modern culture and our interpretation of what we see around us. My image output stays grounded in the antiquity of the past which is a great inspiration to me. I’m very passionate about my love for light and spending time in the studio by shaping it to bring out the beauty in food and products. I also love getting to know the real person I’m photographing by giving the viewer a glimpse of their character.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I'd love to take on more projects and different shoots. Also, to work with new clients and expand my already growing portfolio.

I'm experienced in a variety of fields, - from portraits, products, architecture, fashion and food photography.
I understand and can do the process of the creation of the image, from brain-storming through to layout.
