I go to my clients' houses and teach there for their convenience unless they prefer to be taught at my house. I teach primary, pre-primary and high school aged students. I am also happy to teach adults upon request.
I teach most subjects, both one-on-one and in small classes.

I cannot recommend Just Right Tutoring more highly! Kayt makes learning fun. Because of the Maths program that she uses, my special needs child who could not even tell today from tomorrow, now says that Maths is his favorite subject and he is almost up to grade level (6th grade). I am a home schooling mom and Kayt has been my right hand help with all 5 of my children since 2011. She helped them learn to read. She has taught them Latin, English Grammar & Spelling, Writing, Literature, Maths, Drama, Afrikaans, Science, History. What do you love most about your job?
The moment when a child who has been struggling to understand something finally gets it and is filled with happiness and a sense of achievement. I call this the light-bulb moment. I also really enjoy instilling a love of learning into my students.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I wanted to help children in my own way and not be tied down to a particular method.

Yes. I can teach over Zoom or Google Classroom but I prefer face-to-face teaching.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
I wear a mask and sanitize. I don't teach if I'm sick.
In depth tutoring for all ages - kindergarten to adult
I tutor in all subjects except foreign languages - such as Zulu - and high school Maths. I love to teach Reading, Grammar and everything else associated with the English language. I used to teach English to adults from countries such as the Congo and Mozambique, so teaching adults English is well within my skill set, although currently all my students are children. I have over 25 years of teaching experience and I'm very patient with all my students. I always strive to make learning enjoyable for my students no matter their age, because my philosophy is that the more you enjoy something the better you will be at it.
Special needs tutoring
I tutor children with learning difficulties and have a lot of experience doing so.
Aftercare
I am able to offer aftercare for school students at my house on certain afternoons if there is a demand for such a service.
Holiday clubs
I offer holiday clubs for groups of children between the ages of 5 - 13, which teach different skills such as baking and art as well as many other skills - each holiday club is different from the one before. Minimum 3 children, maximum 8 children. First come first serve.
Drama workshops
Workshops for primary school aged children that teach everything involved in putting on a play, from Scriptwriting (which includes grammar, spelling and punctuation) to directing and everything in between. These workshops teach independence and leadership skills in a fun and creative way. The workshops range from 3 day basic skill courses to 2 week intensive courses and at the end of each workshop the children put on a show for their parents. Each child receives a certificate at the culmination of the workshop they attend. Minimum 3 children, maximum 8.
