What inspired you to start your own business?
I was in the corporate world for many years, then got retrenched. I had to decide whether to get another corporate job or start my own practice. I was hearing many complaints about shoddy service from accountants from my circle of acquaintances, so I decided to start my own accounting practice to make a difference. It has proved to be the best decision I could have made, and have never looked back.

Yes, luckily in my industry this is relatively easy. My systems are all cloud based and I try automate routine tasks wherever possible to save time and money.
My clients I have on live bank feeds with allocation rules for banking, and after initial set up, we can get out monthly management accounts very soon after month end.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
My meetings are mostly Zoom now, very seldom face to face.
If face to face is unavoidable, I ensure all standard Covid-19 precautions are adhered to.
