There are so many good bakers in the city that you don't have to use one with such a bad attitude and unprofessional service.

I was happy with the cakes i saw online, and placed an order with her over whatsapp. I showed her pictures, we discussed icing, decoration etc... and at the end of those messages, i typed "Done. Please can i order it", which she received and she sent two more messages after this, about the cake.

A week before my daughter's party, i left a message to reconfirm my order and her reply "It was never confirmed so i deleted the conversation".

I sent the screenshot of my wording above and she said "This is not confirmation. A 50% deposit is confirmation".

I'll add in here that not once did she send a quote, never asked for a deposit, nor even mentioned the word, nor did she ever send banking details. When i queried this she said "If you don't ask for my banking details I don't send it".

You might get a good cake, but it's not worth the risk on dealing with someone like this. On looking into her further, i see bad reviews on other sites for this same vein of attitude. I would steer clear, there are so many great bakers available who are interested in customer service and a customer satisfaction. More...

Thanks for your review, however, most of what you said in your review is false and has been spun into a story to make yourself look better. In my welcome message (automatic reply) it does say in order to confirm a cake a 50% deposit is required. You never asked for deposit details even after I sent you the quote. If my attitude is so bad then please take your business to the plenty of other great bakers in Durban and please stop harassing me. Have a super day!

Joanne’s cakes are absolutely delicious on the inside and look perfect on the outside. You don’t see cakes this pristine very often. She is incredibly talented.
