What do you love most about your job?
The fact that's it not a job, I never wakeup with that knot in your stomach that we all have had. I`m a Nerd/Techie at heart. Every job or project is an exciting challenge to me, you get to travel all over the Western Cape. There is nothing better than demonstrating to clients how cool their new system is. All our technology we install is on a App.
What inspired you to start your own business?
You determine your own future; you must challenge yourself every day to do better and consistently must upskill yourself.
Why should our clients choose you?
There are a lot of reasons, but I would say "Attention to Detail". If there is a way to install a piece of equipment where the cables are not visible, we will do it it's the last resort to glue it or use trunking. I learnt my skill in the UK for 10years and one thing i can say is the do thing to an extremely high standard. I know that it is influenced by affordable tools there and they do have a lot of toys to make the jobs easier, but I still have that mindset. Aesthetics are so important if it's a brown wall or green wall we spray the camera to match the colour obviously, the warrantee but I have returned two cameras in 20 years.
When I visit your property or business, I'm surreptitiously doing a security and technology audit. There are always recommendations I make from backing you the Wi-Fi with a micro-UPS to new super bright LEDS on the electric fence some facing the property and some facing the road to show that its pulsing.

Remote access is the most important aspect of offering support when a customer need help, all new systems have software that allows us to help check system settings
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
Now that Dr Anthony Fauci from the CDC has informed the world that you can now get Covid and pass it on to the vaccinated and unvaccinated even though you are fully vaccinated with your boosters (31 July 2021) i would say know your status. Do the antibody at Clicks for R150 if you have had Covid your body has the antibodies to fight off any other variant you will get it but with mild symptoms. The antibodies your system creates are better than any Vaccination.
We adhere to normal Covid 19 protocols, I believe some masks are better than others in stopping those small droplets in your breath been passed on, but research show that the virus can pass easily through the masks.
If client prefers not to be home when we are installing, I can assure your property is safe as my team and I have been together since 2010 and are like family, we have liability insurance.

Surveillance Systems (CCTV)
If there is one thing, I have learnt over the years is CCTV systems are useless if they not been monitored in real time. CCTV cameras rarely deter a crime being committed. There is nothing worse than playing back footage of a break-in or incident and seeing the criminal running off with your property.

If you are away from home you must have a way to activate a device to notify them they are being monitored. (Siren/Speaker or Home Alarm Integration)
If you can afford it go for a system that has AI in the cameras and XVR/NVR that way the system activates sirens and strobe without human intervention. PLEASE SEE THE YOUTUBE LINK FOR MOR INFO.
These are capable of knowing the difference between vehicles and humans
If you going for a basic 720p or 1080P (2MP) from Loot/Takealot R4500 to R6000 make sure that the push notifications are activated but also you might want a siren that you can activate remotely to chase them away. Basic systems with motion detection have a lot of false alarm and clients get annoyed and switch the notification off.
If you going for a really cheap system that is less than 720p remember those cameras need to be very close to what they are recording otherwise you will only see a Potato on video playback.
Rather save for a month or two and future proof your system otherwise you will be very disappointed and waste your money.
Intercoms - Wired & IP
We supply and install, Kocom, Paxton, Zartek, Commax, Centurion, BPT, Nice.
Hikvision and Dahua sell a range of intercoms that can be managed from the CCTV/INTERCOM App. This is something to consider if you have or are going to install a surveillance system from the manufacturers.
If you are away from home the call will divert to you phone and the door or gate can be opened remotely.
There are some new products like the famous Ring Doorbell that are available online make sure you do your research before you buy as some are not great.

Loadshedding LED Lighting
Everything in our home is backed up, i have installed LED Strip lighting in the kichen under the cupboards and are great during load shedding. In the rest of the house we have 220v LED downlighters but some of them are 12vdc basically 2 per room and work great.
Where there is no downlights, we have installed strip LEDs 120mm long in the light filling itself. In the kichen the strip are installed in the florescent housing.
The is nothing better in loadshedding just open the app and switch whatever room you want on or everything.
