Kent Tompkins Integrative Psychotherapy
Individual, family, couples and group work within a solution-focused, brief psychotherapy format. I utilize solution-based talk therapy, EMDR, hypnotherapy, somatic work, and homework as needed.
I feel equally comfortable with men’s and women’s issues and relationships. I hold space for the safe exploration of all manner of human patterns.
Sustained healing is at the core of my work. A variety of approaches are available given each person's unique style of learning and level of need. A good diagnostic map and case history is also important in order to understand various patterns and achievable goals.
Trauma still thinks it is still having its experience, yet is living in the past. I'll walk you through why this is, combined with a helping you understand your central nervous system in perhaps a new way, a manner in which you can increase internal self-regulation.
There are ways to quiet the brain, thus migrating into mindfulness. This brings us into a wider, more creative view with deeper purpose. Healing occurs much easier when we are in this integrative, creative and imaginative observer role. Neurosciences tells us a lot in here, from Central Nervous System dynamics to brain wave modifications. Thus a major goal is to create a self healing body and mind.
I maintain a large, quiet, spacious office that I trust you will find inviting, and not your traditionally clinical setting.
I also specialize in longer sessions if desired. I learned long ago that 1.5 hours flies by quickly when exploring deeper patterns. For adolescents, 50 minutes is plenty. Couples work deserves at least 1.5 hours. My rates are $100/hour priced accordingly.
