Griffin and Johnson Tax Prep

My profession as a tax professional is to provide my clients, including wage-earners, 1099 individuals, and small business owners lawful ways to "minimize tax" liabilities and take control of their financial futures. I have been completing taxes for the last 15 years before being approved by the Internal Revenue Service. I am confident in all the tax returns that I endorse.

What do you love most about your job?

Tax preparation is not what one would call a project: but an ongoing relationship of compliance. I enjoy preparing numerous returns for small business owners to help them take control of their finances.

What inspired you to start your own business?

Griffin and Johnson Tax Prep was established because the owner saw a need to provide quality tax solutions, treat clients with respect, and give them a reasonable price. Unfortunately, some tax professionals do not understand that tax preparation is a service industry that should always consider the clients' needs. Taxes can be stressful, so we believe in minimizing that stress while providing great customer service.

Why should our clients choose you?

When looking for a tax preparer Griffin and Johnson would recommend that these questions are under consideration:
1) Does the preparer have a Preparer Tax Identification Number (PTIN)?
2) Have service fees been discussed to have a cost agreement?
3) Will the preparer provide electronic filing as any paid preparer that files more than ten returns per year is required unless the client opts to file a paper return.
4) Do not use a service that is willing to electronically file before form (W-2) is received. THIS action IS AGAINST IRS e-file RULES.
5) Never sign a blank return.
6) Make sure the preparer signs the tax return and includes their PTIN, this gives accreditation that the preparer is personally verifying the validity of the information received.
7) Make sure you receive a copy of your completed return

Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.

Currently, Griffin and Johnson Tax Prep is only providing tax preparation services online and remotely. The organization makes use of email and intake calls to determine the needs of the clients, followed by the submission of documents needed to prepare the tax return. Consequently, after the process has been completed the client is contacted to review charges and the completed return. Lastly, the final return is emailed to the client after the IRS has acknowledged receipt of the return.

What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?

Unfortunately, some tax professionals do not understand that tax preparation is a service industry that should always consider the clients' needs. Taxes can be stressful, so we believe in minimizing that stress while providing great customer service. As a result of the ongoing virus throughout the globe we all have to be mindful of others safety as well as our own. With that being said Griffin and Johnson Tax Prep has moved operations to a hybrid facility to ensure the staff and clients stay safe. However, this has not reduced the productivity but actually made it more streamline and convenient for the customers.
