Kalloni By Arhodia

Hi! Thank you for looking into Kalloni By Arhodia. I'm a certified professional makeup artist and 12 year veteran of MAC cosmetics certified by MAC, Mario Dedivanovic, Lauren D'Amelio and a graduate from Jean Madeline in esthetics. Below I've attached my feature in Philadelphia Style Magazine as one their "Dynamic Women" of 2022, my interview with Cosmos Philly TV, and portions of my interview from both Philly Mag and Suburban Life Magazine (cover feat.). I haven't attached my mini feature in Modern Luxury Weddings Philadelphia but it could be found in a Barnes and Nobel. I've worked so hard to get to this point in my business and I can honestly say that I wake up everyday loving what I do. I strive to achieve trusting relationships with my clients for them to feel confident in knowing that we will not stop until they get that "just right" feeling for them to walk down the aisle. Whether it be a bride, model at New York Fashion Week or South Asian New York Fashion Week, celebrity or mommy makeover, I make sure everyone knows that they're in great hands! Interview with Philadelphia Style Magazine: "What is your proudest achievement?" "Becoming a mother. My children, Lina Valentina & Ioannis (Yiannis) Giorgios, are my biggest achievement. However, work related would be the runway shows I showcased in Philadelphia with my work, being a Makeup host for a television show, working with incredible designers at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in New York, being featured in Philadelphia Style Magazine as one of their Dynamic Women, being on the cover of Suburban Life Magazine, and being a makeup artist on set of a movie with celebrities that I’ve watched growing up." Quote from Suburban Life Magazine Interview: “When a client is at the studio, I want them to feel as though they’re at home and they’re welcome,” says Dia, who works with clients of all ages, genders, and ethnicities. “I love that people feel comfortable when they are with me.” “I empathize, not sympathize, with clients,” she says. “Brené Brown really hit the nail on the head with her empathy versus sympathy video. I’m that person who will climb down into that hole with you and say, ‘How are we going to get out of this?’ I’m not just going to look from the top, say, ‘That stinks,’ and throw a ladder down. Even though I didn’t go to school for psychology, I still listen actively to my clients, who become family.” Just as her clients’ skin glows after a makeup session with Dia, so, too, do the online reviews of her work and work ethic. One former client described her as “a rare gem, and anyone would be so lucky to book with her.” Another spoke about being “blown away by [Dia’s] kindness and how she cared for her clients.” Even a brief conversation with Dia is enough to explain why clients love her so much. In summing up her approach, she says, “It’s not just about makeup and service. It’s about warmth, comfort, care, and faith.” https://phillystylemag.com/get-to-know-kalloni-by-arhodia-makeup-artist-more-than-skin-deep https://www.kalloniglow.com/ https://cosmosphilly.com/dia-karamitopoulos-yiantsos-career-faith-and-service/ https://trendmag2.trendoffset.com/publication/?m=46791&i=759242&p=178&ver=html5 Makeup on Steven Singer Winter Catalog 22' done by Dia Karamitopoulos Yiantsos https://www.ihatestevensinger.com/home?lang=en_US

What do you love most about your job?

There are so many things that come to mind when answering this question, whether it be cancer patient survivors that I make feel beautiful and confident, to my philanthropic efforts in donating to charities in communities, to making lifelong friends along the way who have changed my life more than I’ve changed theirs.

What inspired you to start your own business?

I believe that every business owner strives for the best possible outcome and success for their passion which in hopes one day becomes their business. Especially ones that have taken much patience, strength and commitment to develop. I choose to surround the vision of Kalloni By Arhodia around the humility and love that I have for my clients and business.

Why should our clients choose you?

To be honest, my mind goes in so many directions when I'm asked this question. It's not about being "better" than anyone else. I'm a strong believer in supporting other businesses. If I'm unavailable for an event I'm more than happy to recommend a fellow MUA who I admire. Working for MAC cosmetics for so many years has introduced me to SO many talented artists. I do love what I do, it's been my passion since I was a little girl. I recently found my diary from when I was 8, and inside it said "one day I hope to be a makeup artist if I'm allowed." I come from a strict Greek family. It wasn't the easiest when I told them I wouldn't be attending orientation at Drexel University for psychology, but I knew I had to follow my heart.

Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.

I have a studio located in Broomall, PA which is by appointment only, but I travel to my clients upon request for an additional fee discussed prior to booking.

What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?

My elderly father suffers from COPD. Having to be aware of his weakened immune system prior to Covid I can say that I'm pretty confident in the way I maintain my studio and products. I wear a mask when doing makeup and there have been times when clients have asked me to use their products which I also respected and didn't mind. Someone comes to me to leave feeling happy, confident and comfortable and I've aimed to maintain this even prior to Covid with my work and sanitation efforts.
