My name is Corey, I have been a certified trainer for over 4 years. I specialize in strength and conditioning and am also certified in nutrition. I have worked with clients ranging for 10 to 90 years old. I have trained body builders, athletes and even people in senior centers teaching them home to walk after a injury to keep them mobile and fit. I love watching and helping people reach their goals.

I recently pinched a nerve in my neck ( C6 cervical radiculopathy ) that caused a great deal of pain down the left arm, leaving it weak with numbness in the thumb and index finger. I've always tried to maintain a very physically active lifestyle and as a result injuries and physical therapy are not new to me. From my past experiences I knew what I was looking for and what I expected to get out of my therapy sessions. From our first session together I knew that I had found the right therapist. Dr. Yvan Trinh is extremely knowledgeable and personable, quick to assess your injury with a desire to know your expectations regarding your therapy and recovery. Due to Dr.Trinh's ever changing regimen of exercises, stretches and soft tissue therapy, I quickly found myself on the road to a full recovery...pain is gone, strength has returned with just some slight lingering numbness remaining ( which she continues to treat ). Something I should note that impressed me, she will address surrounding areas that impact the area ( injury ) being treated. So yes, without reservation I would highly recommend Dr. Yvan Trinh to anyone that expects the best care...your body deserves it! Kevin Toms

Can't say enough about the support and training my son has received from this program. Instructors are top notch, able to assess and tailor programs and skills to best meet my son's abilities. It has been a joy to watch the progression that has taken place over his training time. I appreciate the instructor's expectations for a total package, good grades, integrity and attention to technique....all things working together to help create a consistent training environment. Couldn't ask for more or recommend this program more highly.

TRX is by far the best workout ever!!! The trainers here are amazing and very attentive to the individual needs. Nutrition planning is an added bonus! I would much rather go to a small gym than a box gym. It's got a family feel and I am told if I'm doing it wrong or what my modifications can be if I need. :)

I'm updating my review. Several changes have taken place that are very refreshing and worthy of adding stars. One of the biggest changes have been key staff people. A couple of the staff members have made a big difference to me. Nathan and Ross are making some great changes that have been long overdue. Mostly in keeping the equipment in tip top shape. New and fun equipment has been added. Can't thank these two guys enough for listening to concerns and doing something about it!

I have been going here for a few days now. The staff I have talked to have all been very nice and helpful. The remodel of the basketball court has not interfered with the cardio or weight areas. I haven't had a chance to use the pool yet, but I am sure the 80 degree water will feel great when I get around to it. I have worked at YMCAs in the past so I always tend to go to them in whatever town I live in. This one is nice now, but will be extraordinarily nice when the remodel is finished. Check it out!
Should I work out every day of the week?
It depends on your end goal. If you’re training for a marathon, you might work out nearly every day of the week. If you’re a low-level beginner, a minimum of three times a week is enough to make a noticeable impact. No matter what you’re working out for, everyone needs rest and recovery days. Without them, your muscles won’t be able to recuperate and grow strong, so remember to factor in some down-time, too!
Where can I have my personal training sessions?
Pretty much anywhere! The great thing about personal training is that it’s flexible - as long as you have the necessary equipment, you and your instructor can decide to have your sessions from the gym, your home, the park, or even your office if you want to!
Does my fitness instructor need to know anything about me?
Yes! First of all, they will chat with you about your goals, and discuss the best way to achieve them. They should also ask you to fill in a consent form to check that you don’t have any pre-existing health conditions that could impact your exercise. They’ll also carry out a health assessment to get a better idea of your current fitness level, tailoring your workout plan around that.
What does a standard personal training session involve?
It's tricky to say, as personal training sessions vary significantly depending on what you want to achieve and the type of workout. Generally, one personal training session tends to last forty-five minutes to one hour. It will start with a gentle warm-up, followed by the nitty-gritty of the actual workout, with stretches to end the session. Remember, warming up and stretching is essential for injury prevention - it’s just as important as the main part of the workout!
What qualifications should a personal trainer have?
A personal trainer needs to be clued up on all aspects of fitness, from the most effective exercise techniques to nutrition and human anatomy- that’s a lot of responsibility! You need to make sure your professional is suitably qualified for the job. After all, you shouldn’t cut corners when it comes to investing in your health. Make sure your trainer has the minimum qualifications required to practice. In the UK, this is the Level 3 Personal Trainer qualification.
Can I get a Personal Trainer online?
Absolutely! Online personal training has become increasingly popular as more people are looking to maintain their fitness during lockdowns and gyms closing. As long as you and your personal trainer have a strong internet connection and a device to stream on like a laptop, tablet or smartphone, there's no reason why your session can't be delivered remotely.
