I was referred to Danny the owner by a good friend of mine and I am so happy I went to try one of his classes. Danny has been my coach, my mentor and my friend since day one! He has changed my life in many different ways by learning about my lifestyle, hobbies and habits. I have tried many many different gyms and Danny is the only trainer that has sat with me once a month as a “check in” to calculate my body fat percentage to make sure we are heading in the right direction or if he has to make changes to his nutritional plan. Yes, he also provides a meal plan and nutritional plan specifically for you. Your weight, height, age and your overall goal. He is amazing. Very lucky to have him as my coach. If you are looking for a great gym and the best trainers, try empower fitness. It will change your life if you are willing to give your health and fitness a chance to succeed. You just have to show up. He will give you the roadmap to success.

Greatest gym here in Miami. ONLY competition is Miami Iron Gym, but even that isn't as good. As a powerlifter, I appreciate the powerlifting room they have in the back complete with even kilo plates aside from the pound plates, and deadlift jack. Also, the atmosphere is tremendous! Very advanced powerlifters, even IFBB pros are ALL OVER this gym, I'm not even into pro bodybuilding and i find this impressive. All kinds of barbells, all kinds of machines, dumbbells go to 200lbs i think, and the staff is amazing. Place even has it's own supplement store. This is Heaven in Miami form.

If you’re looking for a friendly CrossTraining gym where you don’t feel intimidated coming in as a beginner this is the place! Not only are the coaches friendly and knowledgeable offering personal attention but the clientele will welcome you and encourage you like they have always known you. MC X-Training is like one big family! DON’T go to the closest gym out of convenience! Not all boxes are the same! Try them out, you will NOT be sorry!!

With all this crossfit hoopla I finally gave in for the second time. Crossfit is a unique workout consisting of circuit training along with power lifting and other fun little exercises named after ladies. Here is where is it important where you go you reading this along with my self are not Olympians, or power lifters. Basically if you do not know what you are doing or are not supervised correctly you will get hurt. IMT is great the trainers are knowledgeable and always help you out. They started as a small tiny little gym it wasnt even called Crossfit. Now they have a huge "box" and are pushing your athletic limits.

I love this gym so much. Five Stars for the staff, atmosphere, cleanliness and workout equipment. Minus one star if you need child care but for those of you who do not need child care, this place is awesome. There is a cross fit studio and private parking lot across the street from the gym. The gym itself is smaller than the chain gyms but so are the number of patrons. I usually saw 5-10 people in the gym working out during the day, 20 in the evenings. $50/month if you set up automatic payment with a credit card. This is NOT a cheesy pick up gym.

Huge brand new gym with an overwhelming assortment of weights and cardio machines. A weight lifter's dream. Multiple free squat racks and cable pulleys. It can get pretty crowded in the free weights area and around the cable pulleys, as dudes tend to work out in pairs or threesomes, and working in doesn't seem to be a concept they're into. But I can usually figure out an alternate solution with all the available options. Youfit does lack in the ab department, no sleeves for hanging leg lifts and no ab wheels, but no gym ever has it all. Membership starts at $10 a month, unheard of. It's clean, bright and has good energy. Free parking in the attached stripmall. People are friendly and real. No surgically enhanced housewives in head to toe Underarmor gear. They have a large separate studio for classes. I've only taken Natasha's Saturday morning yoga class. It is a great basic class for beginners, or people like me who just want to feel good and stretch, without headstands. Hopefully they will add more yoga classes, especially on weekends. Would be great to have a choice of different yoga styles and levels. Hint, hint! The one criticism I have is that they should be checking the bathrooms a little more frequently, as I've seen some gross things. Things grown women should be ashamed of. We all have thumbs, don't we?!
Should I work out every day of the week?
It depends on your end goal. If you’re training for a marathon, you might work out nearly every day of the week. If you’re a low-level beginner, a minimum of three times a week is enough to make a noticeable impact. No matter what you’re working out for, everyone needs rest and recovery days. Without them, your muscles won’t be able to recuperate and grow strong, so remember to factor in some down-time, too!
Where can I have my personal training sessions?
Pretty much anywhere! The great thing about personal training is that it’s flexible - as long as you have the necessary equipment, you and your instructor can decide to have your sessions from the gym, your home, the park, or even your office if you want to!
Does my fitness instructor need to know anything about me?
Yes! First of all, they will chat with you about your goals, and discuss the best way to achieve them. They should also ask you to fill in a consent form to check that you don’t have any pre-existing health conditions that could impact your exercise. They’ll also carry out a health assessment to get a better idea of your current fitness level, tailoring your workout plan around that.
What does a standard personal training session involve?
It's tricky to say, as personal training sessions vary significantly depending on what you want to achieve and the type of workout. Generally, one personal training session tends to last forty-five minutes to one hour. It will start with a gentle warm-up, followed by the nitty-gritty of the actual workout, with stretches to end the session. Remember, warming up and stretching is essential for injury prevention - it’s just as important as the main part of the workout!
What qualifications should a personal trainer have?
A personal trainer needs to be clued up on all aspects of fitness, from the most effective exercise techniques to nutrition and human anatomy- that’s a lot of responsibility! You need to make sure your professional is suitably qualified for the job. After all, you shouldn’t cut corners when it comes to investing in your health. Make sure your trainer has the minimum qualifications required to practice. In the UK, this is the Level 3 Personal Trainer qualification.
Can I get a Personal Trainer online?
Absolutely! Online personal training has become increasingly popular as more people are looking to maintain their fitness during lockdowns and gyms closing. As long as you and your personal trainer have a strong internet connection and a device to stream on like a laptop, tablet or smartphone, there's no reason why your session can't be delivered remotely.
