I was inspired by one of my mentors during my senior year of high school to become a mentor myself. I pushed away that dream because I felt like I wouldn’t ever be qualified to do so. A year later however I happened across another mentor of mine whom I saw had learned what he needed to know himself and was helping people, including myself, with what he shared. I then decided that I wanted to be a mentor again.
A couple of years later I had the time again to be able to learn how to become a mentor and help people, so I started learning! I completed an intensive 12-week course on presenting and immediately afterward I completed another high-intensity 12-week course on mentoring. I had been thinking of starting up a business for a while and as I was finishing the course on mentoring I registered my business, Starlight Mentoring.
