It had been a while since I’d worked out regularly so starting with a trainer had me a bit worried – especially because I was dealing with an injury. Does he have a bodybuilder attitude? Is he going to make me feel stupid? Is he going to push me too hard – to the point that I end up hurting myself more? As it turns out, I didn’t have to worry about any of that! Nate is a wonderful trainer. He is very knowledgeable. He has put together a set of exercise/routine to help me recover from my injury. Nate always takes the time to explain things to me or to answer my questions. He constantly encourages me to do more/better. He’s the ultimate cheerleader! I highly recommend training with Nate. I found Nathan when I was first entering my “fitness journey.” I hadn’t regularly exercised in years, and had NO clue where to start. I was also not in a position to spend thousands of dollars to start. He customized a plan for me to get started, learn the essentials, and keep me accountable. He was motivational, educational, and knew how to push me just enough to get excited without getting burnt out. Now about 2 years later, well into my fitness journey, and completely capable of tailoring my own workouts, I still sign up for sessions with Nathan to mix up my techniques. Nate is a fantastic, all round coach. We’ve met twice a week for 30 mins for the last 2 years - and continue to do so. Every session has been different and over these 2 years he’s systematically worked on, and strengthened, every part of my body, as well as giving me much more flexibility. How do you help your clients achieve their fitness goals?
I help clients achieve their fitness and health goals through motivating and educating them. It’s much more than giving out exercise orders; Personal Trainers save lives. I have the opportunity to work with a wide variety of clients, identifying their goals and writing personalized programs for them. I can also assist with injury rehabilitation or work with specialty conditions. This means I have an understanding of anatomy, physiology, and corrective exercise. All this pays off when you realize you're making a positive difference in the lives of others. You could be helping people add years to their lifespan or save them from an operation.
What’s the secret to getting the body of your dreams?
Consistency and Conveniency!!! The only bad workout is none at all. Walk through the door and I'll guide you through the rest.
What do you love most about your job?
It's a pleasure and honor to play a part in someone’s wellness journey to keep fit, have fun and feel better.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I wanted a life that I could manage for my family. Working 9-5 didn't provide that for me. It's certainly had its ups and downs, but I did it so I had more time to do what I love with the people I love.
