Your Wedding Belles

The officiant was one of the areas that I knew the least about, since most of my friends were married by their various churches. However, my fiancé and I wanted a non-religious ceremony. I did speak with multiple officiants/celebrant, but Julia was by far the most friendly and experienced. She clearly explained her role as the officiant and the process of writing the ceremony. During our initial phone call, she also asked a lot of questions about me and my fiancé, so that she could get to know us and our relationship and work it into the ceremony.

A couple of weeks before the wedding, Julia sent us 3 different drafts for the ceremony. We were able to mix and match til we found a draft that we liked, and she was more than accommodating when I asked her to add in some more personalization.

On the day of the wedding, Julia was prepared and set up our wine ceremony box to look good in photos, handled our vow books, and help up the microphone during our vows so we wouldn't need to fuss with anything. She was also great at giving us cues, like when we needed to taking a half-step back for photos or hold hands. Like a pro, she immediately stepped to the side during the first kiss, so that she wouldn't photobomb.

Amidst all the post-ceremony buzz, she walked our witnesses through signing the marriage license. Unfortunately, Julia forgot to sign herself. Luckily, we caught the mistake a few days later, and Julia was quick to respond and fix the issue.

Julia was absolutely amazing to work with. From the beginning, she was incredibly helpful, honest, and patient. We spoke over the phone, explained our ideas and what we wanted/didn’t want and she created amazing drafts of our potential ceremony. We were able to change and add anything we wanted, however, it was not needed. I am still receiving compliments from our ceremony from four months ago. I could not express enough how incredibly perfect Julia was for my elopement. From the moment my now hubs and I had our first phone call with her we were beaming ear to ear. The night before, sooo many things went wrong with decor and set up but we made it work out. As if the day of couldn’t get any worse, sooo many people were late. My mom and I were ready to pay the late fees, but I was still so stressed with everything. Julia was so kind and she helped make me feel calm and to just think about myself and my groom and nobody else, she was very patient and helped me realize that no matter what happens, it was him and I and our kids that were the most important on our wedding day. Once the ceremony started, all I did was look at my groom and all my worries melted away. She did a fantastic job with our ceremony and vows and we had little laughs throughout. He suggested someone else, but we didn’t quite feel like we fit, so the search continued. I ended up putting out a PSA on Facebook bridal page which is where I found Julia and Your Wedding Belles. She was quick to respond and we met up quickly to discuss our options. It was so great meeting her and felt like we connected immediately. She listened to our story, took notes, and felt genuinely interested in performing our wedding ceremony. We hired her and loved our ceremony. The communication was so poor that by the time we had our draft, it was like she didn’t even really remember our story or what we wanted. The ceremony was flawless without mistakes. Afterward she came off very business promoting like without the authenticity of connecting with us as a couple. Also, the marriage certificates were not placed back safely Into the folder they were in, and the folder was lost somehow, and thankfully the papers were not damaged. From the first conversation with Julia, I knew we were in amazing hands. Although we were connecting over a phone call, she took the time to get to know me and my wife - and you could tell she was genuinely interested in knowing us and our story as a couple.

The day of the wedding was absolutely perfect. Julia was professional - on time and was ready to go! The way she officiated the wedding was absolutely beautiful, and the way she painted the picture of love was perfect. If we could get married 10 more times, we’d pick Julia to officiate each of our weddings! She made our day so much more special than we ever thought possible, and we were so pleased with how kind and warm she was.

THE WORST PART, is that she didn't take her job seriously, we didn't get our marriage certificate in the period of time she and the county told us, so my husband contacted her and I contacted the county, she said something to my husband and the county told me they didn't have my record. Sadly this is not gonna be our great review. We decided to hire Julia because it seemed she knew a lot of the legal process and the price was great, she was very flexible with the ceremony script.
BUT the day of came, and first she got LATE, I was streaming the ceremony and everybody was logged in and she wouldn't come, when she finally appeared, she first started to talk to the photographer to give out her card instead of marrying us.
