We took our puppy last February. I was very skeptical upon arriving and further concerned that we were not asked about our pup's vaccination status nor for proof of it. I'm not certain if WOD requires this or assumes responsible pet owners would make sure it's done if enrolling a pet in a boarding training program. They did not have any intake forms available so our information was jotted down on a piece of paper that was supposed to be transferred to the form - to my knowledge, this never happened. I personally remained uneasy and would have preferred looking into other options, although the owner genuinely seemed extremely knowledgeable and experienced. I understand he's one person and cannot be expected to be responsible for training the 40+ dogs (I later discovered) they had at that time all by himself. The times we visited after that, however, he was never there and became non-responsive to text messages and calls (hopefully nothing traumatic was happening in his life at the time). The group of very young adult trainers were typically present and when we arrived to see what our pup had learned, we only saw place & sit (which he always responded well to sit before we enrolled him). He seemed quite underweight so the young lady stated they would increase his meals. When he was picked up at the end of the 21 days, our pup was extremely lethargic and vomiting. After the $900 we paid, I immediately incurred a $164 vet bill the next day because we did not know what was wrong with him. Thankfully, our pup didn't have any particular sickness; our vet confirmed he was basically malnourished and dehydrated. Our vet gave him food and stated our pup devoured the food very quickly; they kept him the entire day to make sure he was well nourished and hydrated. There was supposed to be I believe two follow up sessions with WOD that never happened as we never received a response to calls or text messages. Before WOD, our pup was attending the Petco Puppy training and he was doing great with that! We should have continued that as (1) the commands he responded to from that training, he no longer responded to any - with the exception of sit - upon returning from WOD (2) he seemed to have regressed instead of progressed & (3) it was no where near $900. Our experience isn't everyone's and I'm happy for those who had a great outcome with WOD. For the expense and time away, I just wish we could say the same, or that I'd at least insisted we go with my gut. More...

Abusive and neglectful establishment.

I strongly urge anyone looking at working with World of Dogs, LLC to reconsider. I won’t go into exact details of what happened here, but allowing him to take my dog, Titan, as a board and train client was the worst decision I have ever made. After having an initial consultation with Palmer Wilkes to discuss taking Titan on as a potential Personal Protection client and speaking with 3 references he provided, I decided to sign a contract to work with him. What happened from there was my worst nightmare and Palmer handled the whole situation with complete and utter disrespect and unprofessionalism to put it nicely. First, he said he would be closing down his business as a result of this incident and he promised money to recompense what happened. Less than a week later, he shared a Facebook post promoting his training services. At that point, my husband reached out asking for proof of new procedures he had put in place to prevent future clients from experiencing what we did. That was met with a promise to do so and then silence - no proof of any changes being made and no communication as to why we never received the money owed. He continues to take on multiple board and train clients touting that he has the most humane and effective training program out there - I beg to differ. I don’t wish to ruin Palmer, but I can’t live with myself if I don’t at least caution others who are looking at his services. I wish someone would have warned me. They treat dogs horribly. They train them in ways that is easiest for them but very harmful for dogs. Tying them up and using harsh treatments make them anxious and fearful and that can lead to aggression. This training facility actually trains the dog and the owners I absolutely love how they work! The trainers are amazing and well understanding I love all the things they offer!
