My experience at Winsome Brides was something out of Say Yes to the Dress. We were welcomed at the door after making the reservation for seven of us (my bridesmaids, my mom, and myself) by the lovely mother daughter duo, Chris and Bekah. Instantly, they leapt into action and made us all feel at home with some basic ground rules. Stay around budget and in my size. Everyone picked out a couple of dresses and I started to try on different styles and colors and patterns. Then my friends and family sat down in the cute vintage couches and chairs and Bekah and I got to work in the dressing room. I tried on a few. Everyone really loved this cute pink dress and I felt like a princess in it. It was set to the side and i was told to try on a couple more. Then the moment happened and I tried on the one. It zipped perfectly, and already had a bustle on it from the previous owner. Everyone screamed, I cried, and Bekah and I hugged in the dressing room knowing I had found the one. I tried on the pink one again, and just wanted to get back in the other one. So Bekah zipped me back into it. We got some cute photos with an adorable sign that said "I said Yes!" And the whole shebang. I could not recommend this place and Chris and Bekah enough. It was an amazing deal for the dress with some alterations having been made, and I got to take it home that day. I had a wonderful experience! I'm using my husbands yelp account, but I wanted to give a shout out to this wonderful bridal boutique. I was actually able to find the exact dress that I had seen in a magazine. I had alterations done there and we took it from a size 14 to about a size 6-8. I was so happy with how my dress turned out. I was also able to rent my dress even after I'd done alterations! That was a huge attraction for me. Christina made this process so easy for me. I tried on bridal dresses at three total shops (and researched many more) and this shop is where I finally said yes to a dress. Since many of the dresses are once loved, donated, or retired floor samples you can find a high quality and unique gown for a good price here. The dress I got from Winsome Brides is better quality and half the price of the runner up from BHLDN. They were able to get me an appointment on short notice and Bekah was there to help me try on dresses. She knew a lot about each dress and helped pull dresses that matched my style. I purchased my dress from these lovely ladies about a year ago...  She's an all-lace gown, and I was worried about the wrong people getting their hands on her when it came to fitting.  I was instantly put at ease when Christina started assuring me it'd fit perfectly when she was done with it.  I'd love to post pictures now, but my wedding isn't until August.  I'll be sure to post an update then!  This place is first class, and treats every bride like a queen.  I'm so thankful for the opportunity to work with them. Amazing team! I bought my dress and then had them do major alterations to my dress. I had it taken in from a 16 to about a 10 and they did the most phenomenal job! If you're a bride on a budget like me, you'll love Christina - she had helped me purchase a dress last summer at Sparrow Bridal, a store that was closing in La Mesa, and told me that she'd be opening up her own store too and I can come to her for alterations. So of course I kept an eye out for the opening of Winsome Brides, and went straight to her for getting alterations done by Gala, a seamstress that works with her (check her out at Gala's Bridal Alterations). Gala is amazing and very good at what she does.Christina and her daughter Becca were very attentive, warm, and understood my need to find something beautiful in the price range I needed. I also found out that she does wedding coordinating, too, but I'd already gone with another when I found out, otherwise I would have picked her. Christina even overheard me telling my mom I still need to take my dress to a dry cleaner and she was able to recommend one within walking distance of my apartment, and told me to drop her name and a quote, and they worked with it! I promise I will post a picture of the dress after the wedding for proof! My mom, aunt, mother in law and aunt in law accompanied me to this gorgeous and down to earth boutique to find my dream dress. Now I'm not a girl who has a very flattering shape and I do not easily fit into designer outfits. Boy, I have never felt so at home and so beautiful with the help of our heaven sent angels who own the shop. We booked the salon to ourselves and had mimosas and yummy treats and tried on as many dresses as my heart desires. I highly recommend Windsome Brides! I had to come back and update the review. Christina was incredibly accommodating about last minute alterations to the dress and the in house seamstress Gala is outstanding! !! She's a major perfectionist which is super important when you're working with something as emotional/important as a wedding dress. Shes been doing it 35 years so you know you can trust her. I absolutely love working with Christina and Becca! They were super attentive to me when I purchased my dress from them. I tried on my ideal style that I thought I loved, it didn't work out. I tried two others and then when those didn't work out, I threw caution to the wind and tried on a style that I didn't think I wanted and ended up loving it so much I cried. They were super helpful and happy for me and I was so grateful to have come to this shop. A couple months later I emailed Christina to schedule an alterations appointment. I met with Christina and Gala. I wrote down my appointment time wrong but they were still flexible in helping me out. Gala noticed a lot of little areas where my dress could be improved that I didn't realize needed to be improved but I am super grateful to have my perfect dress fit me perfectly. She did mention that it's really important to go home and weigh myself though so I don't change too drastically between now and when I meet her again for alterations. Will do Gala! This shop is beyond AMAZING!!!! Christina and Becca are the most wonderful mother and daughter duo!! I was referred to this bridal shop by another boutique because I had such a strict budget ($1500) and I was NOT disappointed at all. Both Christina and Becca are incredibly sweet and they totally work with your schedule. Plus they really know their wedding stuff. The gown selection at this shop was great, ranging from all different sizes and styles. I'm a street size 2-4 and the dresses on the rack match street sizes rather than (super annoying) bridal sizes. Almost all the dresses I tried on fit me very well and I was so shocked, especially since this was my third shop I had been to. I found my perfect dress here for a STEAL of a price and it fit me PERFECTLY! The dress hadn't been dry-cleaned yet but Christina sent it the following day and had them dry-clean it twice for me. I picked up my dress a few days later all sparkly white and got to try it on again before purchasing it! In addition to the amazing gowns they have, they also collab with a local jeweler and local seamstress! They have beautiful handmade jewelry that is so gorgeous and unique that I'm buying a necklace and matching bracelet for my wedding day from there too! LOVE LOVE LOVE this place. I had previously worked/managed a bridal boutique before becoming a bride and was worried about what it would be like going shopping for myself. I was so pleased with everything this shop has to offer. Christina is so sweet, knowledgable and does not pressure anything! She goes above and beyond for everyone I saw her work with.I recommend this to EVERYONE in the market for buying and/or consigning your gown. Five stars are not enough for this beautiful bridal boutique! I had a wonderful experience here with Christina and her daughter. They've done a wonderful job with the Decour and I felt very comfortable purchasing my dress from them and also using their on-site seamstress, Gala. She's a miracle worker! They have a great selection of dresses, veils and accessories.  I'm even having a custom-made piece of jewelry done by a local artist. This was such an amazing day for all. Christina, was so wonderful, her grace and calm for me as the mother of the bride, she just made it all flow and work, no matter what the last min. change was.. To include Father of the bride's shoes mishap. She was extremely kind with all her guidance for our daughter. I love that Makayla picked Oak Creek Barn as her venue.. Christina Gates, owner of Oak Creek Barn, is a top-notch wedding planner! While I did not have my wedding at her venue (which looks lovely, and perfect for a rustic wedding), I was fortunate to have her as my day-of coordinator for my wedding at Naval Base Point Loma. Christina was more than just a day-of coordinator as we met several times for her to get to know me and my groom, our vision, the venue, and finalize the details. She made me feel comfortable through the entire process from planning to the very last minute on the wedding night. She handled all situations with grace and took a ton of stress off of me on the day of because I knew she was taking care of it. Christina is on-point with the timeline and can improvise when necessary or desired - when all of our guests arrived on time, Christina came to me with the idea of starting the ceremony earlier than planned and we were able to add more special moments later in the reception we didn't originally have time for. Christina comes prepared for any potential wedding woe and even had a floss pick when we needed one! I could not have asked for a more perfect person to be my coordinator. I wish I could give them more stars! The shop is so welcoming and the selection of dresses is perfect. Everything from traditional to trendy to boho. The handmade accessories like the veils and jewelry is a HUGE bonus considering it's so hard finding anything not made in China these days. They don't only care about finding you the right dress, but they care about your experience as a bride altogether. I'm not a bride,  but I came into this shop for my friends dress appointment.  I was impressed with how beautiful and welcoming this boutique was right off the bat. Christina was such a sweetheart and took her time to help my girlfriend - explaining each type of dress,  what could or couldn't be altered and there was even an alterations person on site to help as well! The selection of dresses are so gorgeous,  and Christina and her team really go above and beyond to make sure you have a wonderful experience. There's no pressure whatsoever, I was completely comfortable the entire time. Best bridal boutique I've been to! I love the boho theme. There are so many different style of dresses to try on. I love how open and clean the shop is. Worst thing is shopping for a dress when dresses are all jammed together. So overwhelming and exhausting.
