Christina is an amazing chef and a wonderful person to have at your event. She is sweet, considerate, and values good communication and clarity. Her skill with cooking is exceptional - she's very creative, offering a wealth of solutions for all sorts of different culinary desires, including raw, gluten free and vegetarian. She's also great with meat and dairy, pastries, and if there's something new that you want, she will thoroughly research it, do test cooking, and provide that special something. However, it's the little touches that really blew me away - the care for detail, the presentation, and the beautiful garnishes and colors she included in the plated food. I attended a 5-day women's campout in Mendocino for which Christina created 3 meals per day of exquisite flavor, soul-nourishing goodness, and artful presentation. Because of the foggy coastal weather, warm meals throughout the day were a blessing -- the fact that the food was beautiful and organic and carefully balanced (soooo many veggies!) was above and beyond. Christina Sachs of Wholehearted Chef offers not only her culinary gifts but a warm and nourishing presence as well throughout the process of working with her. We first hired Christina to create appetizers for an event, to prepare some meals for after our baby was born, and to create our wedding cake. Every time we have worked with her she brings her creative spirit, kindness, and expertise as a chef. With our wedding cake, she brought her experiences of working closely with a pastry chef, as well as her beautiful aesthetic to the creation of our cakes which we were so happy with. We sampled some different kinds of lemon flavored cakes with buttercream frosting, and we also requested a carrot cake which our guests continue to talk about to this day :) We had a small multiple-tiered carrot and lemon cake for cutting, and sheet cakes of both separate flavors to serve to all our guests. As requested, she was mindful of using organic ingredients and was able to incorporate some beautiful decorations from nature.We highly recommend hiring Christina for any of your catering needs, whether for a special event, everyday meals, or your wedding!
