We rescued a 3 year old Great Dane over a year ago. She had some behavioral issues, not awful, but noticeable when we had family at the house. I found Von Weiss Kennels, Melissa. Melissa helped us so much in understanding not only ourselves when training Bentley, but Bentley now, through training, we have built a mutual trust between ourselves and Bentley. In June of this year I purchased a puppy from Von Weiss Kennels after several long conversations with Melissa via phone. This not so little guy is paws down THE BEST PUPPY we have ever had. She does everything possible to raise her litters the right way. Trooper has a great personality, extremely stable temperament, super solid environmentals, and as such can be taken literally anywhere with no issue at all. What do you love most about your job?
I love what I do because training creates harmony in people's lives with their dogs and potentially saves dog's lives. I love building confidence in people and showing them they can achieve their goals with their dogs and show them how it gives them confidence in other aspects of life as well.
What inspired you to start your own business?
Training is my passion. Knowing that I can help dogs achieve their highest accomplishments and bring a strong relationship between owner and dog is a very rewarding feeling.
Why should our clients choose you?
I am a Ph.D. Animal behaviorist, my team is highly experienced, we train with the owners on a one on one basis and teach them how to handle their dogs as well as form a strong bond, we do not use e collar training, we train with positive reinforcement, we are professional, we care about our clients and their dogs, I have 35 years experience.
Private Lessons
We work one on one with you and your dog to teach you methods to training and explain every action we take while doing so.
Private lessons are once a week for a minimum of 8 weeks.
Board and Train
We offer a 2 week board and train for people who have a hard time managing their dogs at home. We set the obedience and get your dog under control and after the 2 weeks, we do 6 weeks of private one on one lessons to teach you how to work with your dog.
Service Dog Training
This is a long process and we work with you and your dog for scent detection for medical issues, disabled persons, autistic children, and emotional support.
Sports and Competition
For those of you who have dogs that have the drive for sports and agility, we train Schutzhund Sport, AKC agility, protection work and tracking.
Puppy Training
We offer an 8-week course, one on one to get your new puppy off to a good start. This includes potty training, leash training, crate training, marker and imprint training, relationship building and focus.
