VIP's Pet Hotels

We've been taking our two dogs there for a little less than 2 months for daycare. Hesitant? Your fur babies ARE IN GOOD HANDS! Matthew and his team truly care for your dogs. They show them love and affection, and not to mention that my puppies are so POOPED by the time they get home from daycare. I've tried one other daycare facility which we do like as well... however I will say that when my pups return, they still have a lot of energy to get out. This is NOT the case at VIP's. We bring our dogs to daycare to not only socialize, but also to get out all the bundled up energy they have as we live in a 1 bedroom apartment in the city. They send you videos of your fur baby one to two times daily and are also very accommodating to your and your dogs needs. 5 stars doesn't even begin to give Matt and VIP Pet's Hotel justice. I have had nothing but AMAZING experiences with this organization. To begin, VIP's customer service has been stand out from the moment I first contacted Matt, the manager. My Charlie is a rescue pup who has energy on top of energy, I knew daycare was the best option for us living in the city.  Charlie tried out other daycares and wasn't satisfied with the services or facilities until VIP's. The affordable $35/day pick-up and drop-off service has been a Godsend to my household. Not only are they easy to get ahold of, but they also send a video of your pup playing with the other dogs at daycare, making you feel at ease that your fur baby is in the best of hands. Being a rescue pup, Charlie had some baggage that resulted in dog & leash aggression with other pups when around me. I took Charlie to other training services but nothing seemed to work. I reached out to Matt asking for some recommendations and he offered to have Charlie work one-on-one with him with his board and train at VIP's. Since completing his training, Charlie is a very well mannered pup who no longer shows aggression other pups when I am handling him. Matt has taught me tools and skills that I can use to continue to work on Charlie's training (they even offer maintenance training while he's at daycare) to make sure Charlie continues to be the best pup. VIP's has become a "home-away-from-home" for Charlie, and I feel rest assured that when I am at work or out of town, Charlie is in great hands. We love VIP's! We have been taking our dog Ginsburg to daycare once per week to help with socialization-she is a rescue with an abuse history and she occasionally has some anxiety issues. Matt and the rest of the staff were very understanding and listened to my concerns about my dog and our goals. They are all very comfortable with dogs, even anxious ones, and that is very helpful! She is starting to get much more comfortable around people and other dogs; she loves going to daycare and she gets excited when we head for the door.We recently boarded Ginsburg for the holidays-it was my first time boarding her so I was nervous. We got updates daily of how she was doing, included texted videos which I really appreciate. She got medication daily without any issues. When we picked her up we got a full report and she continues to blossom with VIP's!The facility itself is very clean-I think they clean it multiple times per day. I've brought my senior dog here plenty of times and have always had a great experience! They always remember Ruthie and are very sweet with her, and they are sure to match her with the right play buddies. Drop off and pick up are always a breeze. We have been using VIP'S for boarding for several months now. We have a very old cat and an older dog and they have been great with them. They send us videos of our pets via text message which we love to get. All of the staff are super friendly and genuinely seem to care about our pets. Definitely recommend! More...

Hand's down the best in Chicago (and we have tried many). Before we even started with their services, Dave (the owner), spent time on the phone with us discussing our pup's behaviors and suggesting materials to read etc. VIP's daycare has helped our anxious rescue bloom into a more socialized, fun-loving dog. The entire staff is wildly knowledgeable and takes the time to really help you understand your dog's behavior - we walk away from any experience here more educated than we arrived. Matthew, Jordan, and the entire staff are truly a dream team with the most professional, kind service we've ever encountered. We started with daycare a few days a week (if you're close enough, their pick-up/drop-off service is amazing!), but we can't speak highly enough about their boarding or grooming services as well. VIPs is amazing! We are so grateful to have them come pick up our pup and drop him off everyday, as having a puppy with no care can be a nightmare! ! They are very responsive when we ask for pictures and videos, and Griffey always comes back super tuckered out. All of the employees are so nice and the lady that picks him up everyday is so great! They recently had a case of kennel cough and we really really really appreciate the measures they are taking to make sure it doesn't spread. While it's not ideal to not have our doggie at daycare, I think everyone knows that stuff like that is unavoidable (like a kid getting chicken pox at daycare), and they have been so accommodating to make sure it doesn't spread but they are also providing services still.  They have offered to come give him walks everyday which has been so great. My pup has been a regular at VIPs since he was a puppy and I can honestly say I’ve never felt more at ease with any other day care! We adopted our female red heeler, Moro, only a couple months before we had to settle on boarding her due to a two-week overseas trip that was already in the books. I was super concerned about having to do this since she's had a stressful time adjusting to her new living situation and was beginning to develop skittish, reactive behavior around people. Luckily, the employees at VIP's are great; they have thorough experience in dealing with nervous dogs and neurotic pet parents like me. I really appreciated how relaxed they were regarding my dog's behavior, assuring me that how she was feeling isn't anything new & is entirely normal. We echo everyone else's comments on the friendliness, experience, and professionalism of the staff, plus how clean/top-of-the-line the entire facility is: from the kennels, to the heated/cooled floors, etc. We also love their playtime policies where they make sure your dog is grouped with others that it feels comfortable with. Playgroups are smaller so they are better monitored. Since we were traveling overseas, we were emailed video updates every couple of days to see how Moro was doing. It was so nice to see her making new friends with other dogs, but what I loved the most was seeing how comfortable she became around the staff. When we finally picked her up, she was all smiles & jumps. Apparently she was an absolute sweetheart the whole time during her stay and even helped the staff with herding the dogs back into their kennels after playtime. A true heeler! After our experience with VIP's, we now see that boarding her at their facility was one of the best things we have done to help her socialize better with both humans & other dogs. We are so happy that we found VIP!  Our dog, Jake, is very sweet, but he has severe separation anxiety, so we often need to make last minute arrangements if we are going to be away for several hours. VIP's space is huge (and clean).  Jake has been to VIP for daycare, overnight and for extended stays.  We receive videos of him playing with his friends which absolutely delights our kids. My wife and I stopped by on a Sunday to tour the facility. We imagined it would be a quick 10 minute tour that walked us through the basic details. We were surprised to actually meet the owner (and his son who works there as well) and receive an hour-long in depth tour/conversation with them both. It is immediately apparent that the owner is truly passionate about dogs and has worked with them in a variety of settings his entire life. You could easily say he is an expert in the field. We really enjoyed learning about his experiences/accomplishments over the years. It's a reminder that your dogs will be in good hands at VIP's.After the tour, we were convinced this was the place to go. Their facilities were built with great attention to detail. From heated floors to massive skylights allowing the dogs to better acclimate to the time/get some vitamin D to the genius irrigation system to keep the kennels clean, VIP's is top of the line. We were really excited about the fact that the dogs spend one hour in the kennels (which are huge!) then spend one hour running around in a large open area with a small group of dogs. I don't know of any place that allows the dogs so much play time. It's amazing! They also determine which dogs interact well with one another, and will only put well-mannered dogs together during play time, while the more "energetic" dogs are put out in groups that they have shown to interact well with. They are constantly being monitored with your dog's safety being their #1 priority. One amazing thing that we looked forward to every day was the video that they would text us of all the dogs during play time. It was truly appreciated as we got to see how our dogs were doing while we were away. You could ask any questions you want to the staff and they would happily text you back. VIP's has hands down earned our loyal business and we will be recommending them to friends and family. VIPs is THE BEST doggie day care in Chicago, hands down. We sent our dog Oliver a 2-3 times a week for over a year before we moved out to the west coast, and we wish we could have brought the entire team with us! When we first moved to Chicago, we visited and toured three other doggie day cares in the city, all of which spent 5-10 minutes showing us around, gave us a brochure, and that was that. Upon our first visit to VIPs, Dave, the owner, let us and Oliver hang around for a couple of hours to truly get to know him, his team, the facility and their operations. I am an extremely protective/paranoid dog-mom, but I felt completely at ease by the time we left. Before sending Oliver for the first time, they asked if we wanted to a bed/blanket or toys to make him comfortable during rest time. They also consistently send videos of Oliver playing with the other dogs, and it always looks like he is having the time of his life. These are just a few examples of the many personal touches that make up their brand. Everyone at VIPs is so incredibly nice, trustworthy, reliable and responsive. I have truly been impressed with their professionalism and highly recommend their services to anyone looking for a place to take care of their dog-child. Thank you so, so much to everyone at VIPs! We have been using VIPs since we got our dog (an incredibly shy / nervous Spinone Italiano) - they have been truly amazing. When we travel, the team gives us complete peace of mind that our girl will be taken care of professionally, and that she will have a ton of time to socialize with other dogs and people. It started slow for her, but every time we bring her to VIP (probably going on 7 or 8 stays in less than a year), it turns out better and better. The team delivers personal service, and is a group that really gets to know your pet and her/his needs. They also have grooming services and offer pick-up and drop-off if you're not able to make the drive over on a given day. I cannot say enough about this place!!! My first time ever boarding my dog, who is a pit bull, under 2 years old. Needless to say I was beyond nervous. But the entire experience was amazing!! Upon first arrival we got a great tour of the building, explanations of all of their day plans and schedules, and a full understanding of how wonderfully they run the facility. And then to top it all off, for the three days we were gone, I received texts and videos of my baby playing from Jordan! Every time I take my doberman puppy outside, I say a little thank you to Dave Reese. Dave's background in the military and police sector is unlike any other trainer I'd come across in Chicago which is why I chose to do the 6-week private training course at VIP's. At 45lbs, my puppy used to pull me down the street every day and was wildly unpredictable as puppies are. Now, my 75lb dobe will run from any distance and heel to a (nearly) perfect sit at my left side, no matter what he is doing, what he sees or what he is playing with. Dave's training is simple, straightforward, and very unlike the treat- and reward-based "positive" (and largely ineffective) training methods that are so common. It is also time-consuming and requires you to work with your dog every day in between sessions. Finally, it's not the cheapest option, by a long shot. Yet, it is very effective, and will create a lasting bond of mutual respect between you and your dog that will endure for the rest of your furry friend's life. I have literally called my dog back from chasing a rabbit, from playing with his best buddy at the dog park, from running toward the street - you name it. Just last week I put him in a sit, stay at the cash register of Pet Supplies Plus while I walked to the very back of the store to find a staff member and he had not moved a muscle when we returned a few minutes later. Trusting that my dog will obey me regardless of the distractions around him is worth every penny and every hour I spent reinforcing the simple building blocks Dave gave me to work on every week. VIP's is not the kind of place where you'll find a dog massage therapist on staff or a "luxe" anything, but it is the kind of place with the absolute best of everything that matters (kennels, facility, quality of care). It's the kind of place where the owner himself will pick you up and drop you off, free of charge, for your training session because it's pouring out. I'll take that over a 'premier pet resort' with 'cuddle time fees' any day. Dave & his staff have made me a customer for life (or as long as we live in Chicago :D)! More...

So I'll start by saying we had never boarded our dogs and were really nervous as one of ours used to be a stray and isn't always friendly with people he doesn't know, so we shopped around and found VIP due to the reviews here. I called ahead of time and asked if we could see the place on a Saturday to see how we felt about it and they ended up walking us through the entire place to see all of the boarding options. We decided on the private suite to see how they did in there. Once they were boarded we asked for pictures and got a bunch of them texted to us. The biggest thing was that at pickup, our dogs both seemed tired and relaxed. Our high-anxiety dog actually kept following Nick (who works in the kennel) back to the back area, which we've never seen him do with someone else. They seemed to do well with everyone that worked there, including the owner, which really out our minds at ease. Overall, this is going to be our goto place any time we go out of town, which, thanks to how well they seem to have done, is going to be more often. More...

I LOVE this place for my pups. Both of my dogs, Chase ( 7yr old pitbull) and Lulu (5.5 yr old Yorkie)  have been here at least a dozen times since we moved 6 months ago to Chicago from Florida. The  facility is top notch and very clean, which is a MUST for us. When I pick up all of my blankets have been laundered and chase doesn't have nasty residue that he does with most kennels we've used before due to how dirty the place is. I know when I leave my babies here they literally love on them and give them sooo much attention and exercise! The owner Dave is amazing and always more than accommodating! I have a crazy schedule due to work with a lot of last minute trips and they are always willing to do whatever to help me out. I appreciate places like this because believe it or not, good/trustworthy dog care is hard to find. We are loyal customers and always will be. THANKS GUYS!!!!! More...

I was visiting Chicago for an event and after much research I decided to leave my toy puppy at the hotel overnight. I have never left my pet behind anywhere so I was a little skeptical but after a few discussions with Bess, she convinced me that my pup would be in good hands. PROS: My pup was picked up on time.I was instructed by the owner to call in as much as I wanted too.Dave sent me a video when I called to check in on him. They answered the phone or returned my call right away.CONS:They should install cameras like other establishments so you can check in on your pup as often as you'd like.I don't believe they followed my feeding instructions. (Came home and found that the food, kibble, and treats were all mixed in the baggie.) My pup is a picky eater and does not eat his food this way. He was extremely thirsty, I'm not sure he had enough to drink.Overall, I would recommend and leave him there again and Dave the owner has 20 plus years experience in dog training. More...

Pet Hotel Review (5 stars):I called several kennels and my husband and I were lucky to find VIP Pet Hotels at the last minute during the holiday season.     When I told other places that my puppy ( 6 month old lab/am staff mix) seemed dog aggressive,  they told me that they would be forced to separate my puppy for its entire stay.  Dave, the owner of VIP Pet Hotel,  on the other hand said he would work with my puppy to see if it was truly dog aggressive before he isolated her.  It turned that I was wrong about my puppy, and Dave sent us video while we were out of town of our puppy  playing  happily with other dogs.  When we brought her home from VIP, we could tell by our puppy's behavior  that she got ALOT of play time-  which is perfect for our high energy puppy.  Even though we live over 30 miles away from VIP,  this is the only place we'll bring our puppy when we are out of town.We highly recommend VIP Pet Hotel.Training Review (5 stars):  We had already  gone through  part one of a large pet retail's 6 week training class without successful results (Our dog still pulled on the leash when walking,  would not obey commands without a treat,  and most of what we learned could be easily found on Youtube).     The puppy was beginning to be the source of much stress in our lives. So based on Dave's extensive knowledge of dogs and dog behavior and our experience with his pet hotel, we decided to put our puppy through Dave's  6  week training class.  Dave teaches us dog behavior and the reasoning behind training and techniques each class.  After the first week of his six week class, our puppy was  light-years ahead of where she was after the completion of the six week class at the  large pet retail store.   She actually stopped leash pulling the very first week with Dave!!!    We are currently on the 4th week of training and we couldn't be happier with our puppy.      We are now on the path to give our dog the ultimate freedom of playing leashless,  because we know she will return on command.    Our puppy is also happier, she understands ours commands, knows that obedience is not an option, and this understanding has giving her the ability to know when it is time to play and when it is time to listen. This place is a life saver. I needed a last minute place to board my dog Bud for the holidays, and in Chicago, you can't board a dog if he doesn't have up-to-date shots. Unfortunately, Bud's owner forgets about these very important details. But with VIP, that's not a problem. They have a vet on-site to take care of the shots. So don't stress  about finding a vet for the shots, and then worry about finding a kennel; VIP takes care of it all. I've never seen customer service as good as this place.You can tell this business is truly a labor of love for David and his crew. They do an amazing job of caring for the dogs. I almost felt bad taking Bud back home, because he had such a wonderful time there. The dogs are very well taken care of: they get lots of time to play, the kennels are huge, their training room is AMAZING, and even the floors are heated! They even washed Bud's doggy bed for me. I  am  an independent contractor groomer,and I see a lot of kennels and pet care  facilities.  I have been  all over the metro area, for over 40 years, and this business is phenomenal.  I encourage anyone who might ever think of boarding their pet, or needing daycare, to check it out.  Very well designed, and managed by a real dog lover with years of experience.  there are a lot of  kennels that  look pretty, but are not dog friendly. We have been sending our puppy, Cody, to VIPs for the last month for daycare and more recently for boarding. I can't say enough good things about VIPs. They take care of our Cody like their own. Cody has a blast going to daycare, and Dave (the owner) frequently sends me videos of Cody's fun throughout the day. The best part of all -- Cody comes home exhausted! He stopped chewing up our furniture, listens better, and lets us sleep later now on weekend mornings. Everyone who works for VIP is fabulous, too. It is just so apparent how much they care for the pups. Another great perk is that the place is near spotless. You walk in and DO NOT smell dogs.Although there are some things not yet in place that you might find at other daycare centers (e.g., web cams), those may be coming in the future. I was frantically searching for a place to put up my two dogs over Christmas and I stumbled upon this place online.  I was really glad that I did.  The owners were fantastic and they had spacious rooms for my Great Dane and her buddy.  In fact they thought the room wasn't big enough for the both of them ( which I thought it was) so they put them in the biggest room.  I was really impressed by the quality of this place.  I would recommend this to anybody who has bigger dogs or like quality boarding at a reasonable rate. Recently our regular boarder was booked for the holiday and our vet recommended Vip's and I'm so happy they did. Our two pit mixes have stayed there twice now and it's been excellent. The facility is huge and you can tell Dave really put a lot of thought and care into building out the space - the floors are heated and they have a speacial forced air system that prevents kennel cough and other illnesses that are common in other facilities. There's also a vet's office on site which gives us extra peace of mind. After our first visit at Vip's for Thanksgiving I actually went and toured our old place and was so disappointed with how cramped and overcrowded it was I knew we would be taking the boys back to Vip's for Christmas. When we picked them up after a week I know they were happy to see us, but it was also obvious that they weren't in a huge hurry to leave. They continued to run around the giant lobby area as we checked out and Max, our guy who usually takes awhile to warm up to folks, nearly jumped over a railing to say hi to Jackie, one of the employees. They clearly had a great time and we're considering taking them back for daycare soon!! More...

The VIP pet Hotel is one of the cleanest and nicest places I have seen for boarding, grooming, and training. Not only if their facility new, it is clean and well kept and safe for your pet. I took my dogs there to be boarded for 10 days and they not only had fun but enjoyed the stay. The took great care of my little ones, I would definitely recommend them and be using them again in the future. They are reasonably priced for Chicago area and passionately love your pet as much as you do. They also don't nickle and dime you on other charges when you go. It is one flat rate and all the dogs receive the best treatment, equal playtime, and loads of attention. In all I love this place. Even looking into doggie day care as my pets loved it so much. I've been going here since the first day they opened, a year ago. My Ocho dog absolutely loves it. He drags me in the door and doesn't want to leave when I come to get him. The place is cleaner than some human hotels. Staff and owner are great and super knowledgeable. They have other services like grooming and vet care, a one stop shop! This place is a must go for any pooch to get a good clean play day and more. 5 stars!! More...

First place i went to check out and after speaking with Dave the owner i didnt have to see any others! He took the time to show me around and explained the daily activities for the dogs! Very clean place and very well set up for all different services! Great playtime areas, very clean and the staff is just great! Dave is very accomodating with pickup and drop off times and so is his pricing! $40 a day and no extra hidden costs at the time of payment. I took my wife to pick up our Westie and she was equally impressed after walking through the place and talking to Dave! My dog wont go anywhere else but to VIP' More...
