Vargo’s Dance is a magical place. I’ve gone from sitting and watching other people dance, thinking it looked like fun but feeling too self-conscious and awkward to join in, to asking people to dance with me-in public! Now dancing is one of my favorite things to do. Jamie Vargo, besides being a fabulous instructor, has built up a dance community by taking classes out into the world. It gives you an opportunity to get comfortable dancing outside the studio. My favorite is the 7:30 Tuesday night swing class at Old Towne Pub. Carl and Karrie teach a fun lesson with everyone rotating partners, giving you a chance to dance with people at all different levels-helping you learn faster. BEST MONEY SPENT and easily the best decision we made while wedding planning!! We had no intentions of taking dance lessons until noticing an awesome Groupon deal for lessons at Vargo's. The Groupon was extremely reasonable and offered three private lessons, so we decided to give it a try! Within the first 10 minutes of our first lesson we Jamie, we were HOOKED! Neither of us had any dance experience, and Jamie was incredibly accommodating, helpful, and fun! We were so blown away by her knowledge, skills, and coaching - she offers great cues and progressions each lesson! We decided on continuing with a 10-pack of private lessons and take 1-2 group lessons each week as well. Jamie choreographed a perfect, individualized first dance for our wedding, and we cannot wait to show our friends and family on our wedding day! Again, I cannot stress enough that this was the best money spent! Dance is a life-long activity that you and your (future) spouse can continue forever - it's worth it! My husband and I decided to take private dance lessons for our wedding. We took advantage of the groupon available for Vargos. It was a great value! However, the lessons were so good and we may have not practiced as much as we would have liked so we ended up paying full price for our last lesson and it was definitely worth it! We were not looking for a full ballroom routine but rather just enough to not look like we were swaying on the dance floor. Vargo’s Dance is one of the best studios I have ever attended. The physical studio is spacious, clean, and a warm friendly environment. As an intermediate dancer I have always taken group lessons.This was my first time taking private lessons and all the instructors are extremely professional, well versed in many dances, and differentiate to your skill level. Group lessons and private lessons were worth every penny. The instructors completely focus on you during your sessions. They don’t even stop to answer the phone! Pure dancing/instruction and attention for 45 minutes! Group classes were a blast and well paced for all skill levels. The instructors make it fun to learn. The other students are very welcoming and accommodating to your skill set. Nobody was too cool for school. Don’t forget your ID because they host BYOB classes/events. In addition to in house Studio events, Vargo’s hosts events at local surrounding bars/restaurants. If you’re looking to learn dance and be part of welcoming community Vargo’s is the place. Vargo's Dance is a great place to learn all types and styles of dancing. It's a nice environment and the people are great. The cost is more than reasonable. Just keep up with the schedule and you will always have something to do. Bring your friends with you. I have attended a few events at Vargo's now, and love this place. Jamie is beautiful, talented, and can throw a party. :) The studio itself is immaculate and while I don't know a lot of ballroom dance I was on the floor frequently with other ballroom dancers who were patient with me. My fiance and I have been taking lessons with Steven to prepare for our upcoming wedding and we have been SO IMPRESSED with the quality of service! Steven studied our first dance song before our lesson and came prepared with three different options of styles of dance and tempos to choose from. We so appreciated how prepared he was and how seriously he took our lessons. He was patient, kind, and a great teacher for us (who have no experience dancing at all!). We loved his input and his guidance in leading us through the perfect style of dance for our song. This place is amazing! Upon walking in the owner greeted us as if we had been friends for years. A wonderful place to learn to dance. The very competent instructors put everyone at ease. I was surprised to learn that if you take a lesson, you are then able to take two or three additional well taught group lessons that week at no cost. Another pleasant surprise were the dances and other opportunities to practice one's skills outside of the studio sponsored by Vargo. We came to Vargo's dance to learn our first dance for our wedding. It was a great experience. We took advantage of the 10 class package and ended up even adding more on. Jaime was our instructor and did a great job at teaching us the steps and coordinating a dance. We definitely had good days and bad days but she never ever seemed bothered. She would go over the steps as many times as we needed. I am sure she or anybody else in the room got sick of hearing our song over and over but it was never known to us. For majority of the time, you are sharing the dance floor with another couple but you are never bothered by them. With the attention that is given to you, you feel that you are the only ones in the room. They offer group dances that are included in the packages. Those are fun to attend too. I've been taking lessons here with my fiancee for a few months now in preparation for our first dance at our wedding and we both love it! The instructors (Jamie, Chad, and Levi) are amazing. They explain the different parts of all the dances so well and we still have fun every time we go there. We have been telling all of our friends to check it out and every one of them has had a good time when they go. Vargo’s Dance also hold events where they teach a certain style dance for the first 30 minutes and then turn the music up and everyone dances the rest of the night.
