BROWNIE CRACKLE. I came back 2 days in a row for this. It is rich, chewy, and crunchy all at the same time. The sweet lady there was so very kind. I definitely recommend.

5 stars!!!   My now husband and I set an appointment for our cake tasting for our wedding.  It was so easy to call and set up an appointment.  The bake shop is soooo cute and clean inside. We ended up choosing triple berry cream (my choice) and Chocolate Southern banana pudding (husbands choice)  we got 3 tier cake so we were able to do alternating flavors.  Our guests told us how yummy the flavors were  and the cake very much exceeded my wedding Dreams. So I had to run and grab some last minute desserts for the office party n all that. Since I work close by here I figured I'll check it out and give it a shot as opposed to getting some basic grocery store sweets. Being that it's the Fall season, I was aiming to grab a pumpkin pie. Called literally 30 minutes to check if they had any available and they had one left. The employee was extremely helpful and nice as she was able to hold it for me to come swoop up. She seemed very knowledgeable as well explaining what they added differently in their pumpkin pie ingredient wise and all that. It's little stuff like this that goes a long way with me to be honest. Basically, the pumpkin pie was dope as yeah, you know what I'm getting at.Being that it was my first time there I saw the assortment of cupcakes they had and decided to get a dozen. They've got different flavors for each day so be sure to peep the menu out and grab what your taste buds tell you to.Overall, it's a great hidden gem out there in Santa Monica. Vanilla Bake Shop in Santa Monica was completely awesome. We chose them for our wedding and we have no regrets whatsoever! Firstly, their tasting experience was delightful. We initially went to a competitor that was disappointing. Vanilla Bake Shop was just the opposite - Yuko was super personable and nice, she thoroughly went through all our options, the tasting was complimentary, and their cakes were OMG delicious! We chose them right on the spot to do our wedding cake! Our choice was the Black & White Raspberry with Cream Cheese and Dark Chocolate... so freakin' good! On the day of the wedding, their delivery was on point and the cake turned out exactly as promised - it was both beautiful and delicious! This place is adorable! I've come by a couple of times on my way home from work. The staff is friendly as well. It's never been very busy during my visits. I think I'll swing by earlier next time. Usually, the selections are pretty limited by the time I stop in. But I have enjoyed the strawberry, red velvet, and cookies and cream. They were all very good. My husband enjoyed the key lime flavor and the coconut. I will say it is a bit pricey though.   Overall, it's worth trying out for sure. I love how the cake turned out!!! (I brought the butterflies in which i bought online) they were very thorough with what i want on the cake and what color. If  i want the ombre the fade up or down and what color of pink exactly. When i brought the butterflies in i told them what i want and they did exactly as i asked them to do with those! My advice: get ur cupcake(s) and walk it over to the beach. Sit on the pier, appreciate the look of each cupcake, take a slow bite, taste the flavors and enjoy the moment. My friend and I got the dozen mini cupcakes for $27 (most expensive cupcakes I ever bought).And dissected them in half to share, and we took our time, one by one and savored each individual flavor. Delicious cakes – we used Vanilla Bake Shop for our wedding cake and received so many compliments! People said this was the best wedding cake they’ve had. Vanilla Bake Shop even put a gluten free cake as the top tier of our 3 tier cake as I am gluten free so we could do the cake cutting on the actual day of the wedding. Yuko did our wedding cake which was light and fluffy and with a buttercream. (I hate fondant). The cake was super moist and so good compared to wedding cakes I've had! Usually wedding cake is so disgusting and I never eat it at parties but I loved the cake she did for us and it tasted better than the tasting! We are so glad we went with her as our vendor as our venue had several options to choose from. Super high marks for Vanilla Bake Shop in Santa Monica. We couldn’t have been happier with our wedding cake.

First of all, we really enjoyed our tasting session with Yuko, who prepared our custom wedding cake design for review and approval. Yuko’s attention to detail was on point! She explained all of our options and answered all of our questions.

We also loved trying all the different cakes – so we were sure our guests were getting exactly what we envisioned.

On our wedding night the cake arrived beautifully decorated and exactly as advertised. It was just what we wanted. And of course the guests loved it and kept eating more!

If you want your guests to rave about your wedding cake for days after the wedding, order your cake from Vanilla Bake Shop in Santa Monica.

Personally, we recommend the Fleur de Sel chocolate. Really, really unbelievable!

We worked with Kim at the Pasadena location of Vanilla Bake Shop for our July 2019 wedding in Pasadena. First of all, Kim was fantastic to work with. She was prompt in responses, spent time with us discussing options, didn't rush us, and offered up creative suggestions to 'combine' a few different elements that we really liked. She also went out of her way to incorporate amazing custom touches with the handmade sugar flowers and color of the cake. If i'm ever in the area here i try to make it a point to come.  Their cakes are really delicious! They have a very homemade taste. What i mean by that is: it doesn't taste like fake ingredients or preservatives. The cupcakes taste like you have to eat them THAT DAY. I bet they can't even sell them the next day. Big selection of cupcakes and baby cupcakes. Great for parties and gifting. I ordered 3 dozen (36) baby cupcakes and a cupcake tower for a small wedding reception and it was perfect! !! The stuffed cupcakes were extra delicious, and I'm surprised that they even had them available for the baby size. Cute, little IG worthy bake shop in the Old Town Pasadena area that I during my daily lunch walk. They offer cupcakes, cupcake babies, cookies, muffins, macaroons, cakes and coffee. They also have gorgeous cakes with an option to customize. Yes, vegan options are available upon request. Currently in love with their blackberry passion fruit cupcake. The frosting isn't too sweet and the passion fruit filling has a nice tangy flavor. Perfect for me. Tip: Keep an eye out for their specials. They vary based on the day. Had such a great experience ordering a cake from Vanilla Bake Shop. Yuko was super responsive over email and answered all of my (many) questions. I even got to pick up a couple of samples so I could decide between two flavors for the cake. This really helped because I had never tried anything from Vanilla Bake Shop before. The passion fruit creme cake ended up being the favorite and I decided on a barely naked design with a gold top and fresh flowers (bought separately and dropped off by me the morning of pick up). We ordered custom cup cakes for one of our product launch at our office . We just gave them couple of days notice and they came up with 20 custom cupcakes with logos exactly as they way we requested . To achieve the right logo at such short notice says a lot about their professionalism. Keep it up folks . The only down side is custom cup cake was way too pricey and had lot of cream . This is a cute bake shop on Colorado that makes everything in house. My boyfriend liked the "​Mom's Birthday Cake," and we were told it was a popular choice by the attendant. I chose three of their mini cupcakes, my favorite being the dark chocolate on chocolate. The light caramel​ filling gives an overall flavor of an upscale Hostess cake. I wanted to try a Vanilla Bean but they were sold out this round. Fyi: They have specialty flavors and a cupcake happy hour that happens at closing during the last hour of every day! Stopped by here on a Friday night around 8:30 pm with my sisters. It's a cute little shop with delicious cupcakes! I got a cool deal- I bought 3 mini cupcakes and got 3 free. Don't remember the prices but I paid about $7, I didn't feel it was too much. I got a blackberry passion fruit cupcake it was absolutely delicious! It taste fresh, not too sweet and is now my favorite. We had a chocolate cake w chocolate frosting, that's was a little too much chocolate for me, cupcake was a lil dry. Also tried Cinnamon Vanilla, it had a good amount of both flavors, cupcake was soft and really recommend if you love cinnamon like I do. Last one we tried was Banana Chocolate Chip. By far one of the best cakes (not just wedding cake) I have ever had. Vanilla Bake Shop provided us with a complimentary tasting where each flavor was better than the next. Ultimately we went with the Red Velvet Swirl and Fleur De Sel which were both huge hits with our guests. The only downside was the cake was delivered on a cake board that was larger than what had been communicated to us which did not allow us to use the cake stand we had purchased separately. TL;DR: Open late! Yummy cupcakes. A bit pricey.This is the first cupcake shop I have ever been to that is open until 11PM on a Friday night! I was so glad because usually when I want a cupcake for dessert, bakeries close around 5-7 which is when I am eating dinner.They were out of doughnuts (we saw a picture of unicorn doughnuts on Yelp) but they still had a good variety of cupcake flavors left. Except for the seasonal ones that I wanted to try. In addition, they sell macarons (they make them there!), drinks, cakes, sandwiches, and more! Dark Chocolate Cupcake: Decadent and delicious. I love dark chocolate!Blackberry Passionfruit Cupake: Fruity, sweet, and tart. The frosting was whipped, and the cupcake was light.Pistachio Macaron: I forgot about my sensitivity to food coloring, so I only had one bite. I always get pistachio for my macaron flavor, and this one was on point!Also, the mini cupcake packaging is SO CUTE! The box is a skinny rectangle, and they stand upright (a little hard to get out without messing up the frosting, though). The service was friendly, but this bake shop is pricey. Vanilla is a cute little cafe right on Colorado Blvd, with the main display visible from the window as you walk past. A cupcake sounded good and the appearance of the mini cupcakes sealed the deal. We popped in after dinner to get a small dessert. The normal size cupcake is $3.75 and the mini size is $2.25. You get more value in for the large cupcake, the mini is small and two half bites only, you have been warned. The two flavors we settled in were the Blackberry Passionfruit and the Bittersweet Dark Chocolate. The BlackBerry passion fruit cupcake was my favorite. It had good flavor, sweet frosting (not overly sweet) on a simple yellow cake, with surprise glob of lemon inside. The whole piece came across as refreshing without being too unhealthy.
