Classes are wonderful, instructors are knowledgeable and kind, there’s a variety of class options and times to chose from - I went to the free class and joined immediately after. Street parking but I personally have yet to have any problems finding a spot to park. More...

A semi-private yoga lesson with the brilliant-and-beautiful-in-every-way Stacy Broussard was the *best* investment in my health this year! I emerged from Stacy's lesson with a sense of blissful well-being. My hips and spine feel better aligned, and my back muscles feel elongated and supple. Stacy's explanations of the potential benefits of each pose were also deeply appreciated. I urge anyone-and-everyone to consider investing in their health at Urban Breath Yoga. More...

My daughter and I did last Friday's free yoga intro class in Maplewood. I have been doing a lot of yoga and I really had never been taught the fundamentals, which I was! It was my 12 year-olds first yoga class and she loved it. I will definitely be back! Instructor was knowledgeable, calming, and patient. More...

Urban Breath is located in my Maplewood neighborhood and I always noticed it's popularity on my walks with my dog and it peaked my curiosity. I had a regular Bikram practice at another studio and after it went out of business during my pregnancy I felt really lost. Post pregnancy I found I had lost so much of what I had gained from yoga and recovering from a C section was no walk in the park. I was so happy to find they offer mommy and me Yoga on Thursday mornings that I can bring my baby to without having to find a sitter and be able to take care of both her and myself. Everyone was very welcoming and they immediately asked about me to try to get to know me. The class focused on activities for me to perform alone, with baby for strengthening, and movements just for her to make her feel good. I felt great after my class and my baby was happy and engaged the whole time. We can't wait to return this week for another class! I bought the 30 days for $30 intro pass which is a great deal to help you explore several class offerings. More...

Situated in the heart of The Grove, Urban Breathe gives the mind, body, and soul the strength and focus needed to better yourself. I took advantage of their 30 days of unlimited yoga for 30 dollars and have experienced quite the transformation. The atmosphere is welcoming and the classes are tradition, some with mantras and meditation. Every instructor I practiced with was special in his or her own way. I have grown very close with this studio and will be purchasing a full time membership to continue my practice. They have changing rooms, lockers, and a bathroom. They have food and merchandise for purchase and offer $5 Vinyasa classes a few times though out the week. The classes were never overly crowded. Allowing for an intimate session with the teacher, ensuring proper alignment in every pose. Please, do yourself and everyone you share this world with a favor and give Urban Breathe a try. Your body and mind will soon become open and soft to new experiences. More...

I just started attending yoga here. I am taking the prenatal yoga classes. I go to the dogtown studio with Jessica and I love it.  I would recommend it to all moms. The classes are roughly $100 after tax for 6 classes.  That is a little expensive for our budget but it is worth the benefits that I am getting.  Its also reasonably priced for what I have seen from other studios.  Everyone I have dealt with has been nice, informative and willing to work with me when special circumstances have come up. I would definitely recommend them to my friends. More...

I LOVE this yoga studio. After trying out Bikram hot yoga and deciding it wasn't really for me, I decided to seek out a more traditional yoga studio. I started off with the $30/30 deal, and by my third class I was hooked. I've been going here for about three months now.The atmosphere is so laid back and kind. All the teachers are professional, knowledgeable, and unique. There are so many different kinds of classes at all different times of day which makes it really easy for busy folks to stop by and take class. Also, they offer intensive student workshops every few months which I haven't had the chance to take advantage of yet, but love that it's available. They focus on a different style of yoga each workshop. Like this month, it's a yin yoga workshop. They also do teacher training which I would love to do at this studio, if I get the chance. They have classes for children, and prenatal classes, which a lot of other studios don't offer. Lastly, at $75/month for unlimited yoga, you can't really find any other studio that offers this kind of price for such high quality classes. More...

This is, in my opinion, the best yoga studio in St. Louis.Listing more than 60 classes a week, Urban Breath simply offers a variety and versatility that can't be rivaled. Classes are scheduled from 6:30 a.m. to as late as 8 p.m., making it easy for people to squeeze a little ohm-time into their schedules. With all the styles practiced here, this studio truly has something for everyone. Feel overwhelmed by the fast pace of vinyasa classes? That's fine, take a deep, soothing yin session with Jee instead. Feel restless in restorative? Pop into a power class and learn to fly in arm balances. They also teach Ashtanga and Kundalini, which can be hard to find, and a prenatal yoga series in addition to their regularly scheduled general vinyasa, slow flow, hatha and basics classes. I love that they have recently added a morning meditation class to the schedule -- yoga is so much more than just the physical poses, and this studio recognizes that through all the attention paid to pranayama breath work, meditation and the importance of every day mindful living.UB also makes yoga so accessible. The $30 for 30 days deal for new students is incredible. After that, $75 a month gets you unlimited yoga -- that's got to be one of the cheapest rates in the city. Plus, they offer fun challenges throughout the year (like 30 classes in 30 days) to keep people coming back to the mat, with awesome prizes. Finally, the people here make UB notable. It's an amazing community of students, several of whom are also teachers, and teachers who can often be found practicing alongside their students. The breadth of experiences is incredible -- Jee has studied and taught yoga all over the world, and Kim and Maddie have both worked with some Ashtanga greats. The students come from all walks of life and backgrounds, and everyone's got an incredible story to tell.I have a friend at UB who often says that in a single hour, yoga can satisfy all of her needs: physical, emotional, spiritual, mental and social. Come in and see what she means. More...

I've only been going for a few weeks, but Urban Breath feels more and more like my new yoga home. I had been going to Yoga Six for a while, but was getting tired of their "scripted" classes (the same flow every time), so I reluctantly started looking elsewhere. I'd heard great things about Urban Breath, and the Grove location is SUPER close to my house. So, I'm trying out their $30/30 days deal for new students... And it. is. AWESOME. I've been able to try out a variety of classes, times and teachers, at my own pace. So far, I've taken classes from Laurie, Joe, Kim and Carrie, and I like them all! Each class has been different but rewarding in its own way. I'm an intermediate-level yogi (I guess?), so I like a good challenge and even a good sweat. Laurie delivers that, for sure, in Vinyasa Yoga. Carrie and Joe both bring the heat and the peace in the 6:30am class, which is perfect. And Kim's Tuesday evening Vinyasa class was encouraging, inspiring and eye-opening. Can't wait to try more!  I am more likely to go to the Grove location, which has two nice studios (although one might be a little small). The vibe is great there -- calm, welcoming, not too fancy, but well-appointed. The Dogtown space is cool, too, like a little peaceful nook in the lively neighborhood. And the price?! For real, you can't beat $75/month unlimited membership. If you're thinking about checking this place out, DO! More...

Urban Breath offers what is indisputably the best deal for yoga newcomers in STL who are interested in, but not yet sold on the prospect of stretching and breathing to attain inner peace. With 30 days of yoga for 30 dollars at either of their studios - Manchester in The Grove or Tamm in Dogtown - patrons can familiarize themselves with the practice and decide if it is right for them before getting locked into a membership. How great is that? The classes vary from simple Yoga Basics and Gentle Yoga to the more complex  Hatha Flow and Power Vinyasa and carry on from 6:30am to around 8:30pm, which makes fitting yoga into your schedule easier than ever. Can't make the 7:30pm Yoga Basics class because your kickboxing class, Thai cooking course and erotic book club take up all of your evenings? No problem! There is an all levels A.M. Yoga class at 6:30 nearly every morning. Can't seem to wake up that early? No worries! You can always sign up for the Yoga Lunch at noon. So far I have found zero 'catches' and TRUST ME, I've looked. A relaxed atmosphere, friendly, qualified instructors, free (of charge and of odor) equipment available for those without their own, a sensible schedule and a plethora of distinctly different classes, all at one of the cheapest rates in St. Louis. It really is as good as it sounds. More...

Love me some Urbs. I did the 30 for 30 back in Feb/March, just to feel out the St. Louis yoga scene. Spoiler alert: I never left. I just purchased a 3- month membership because you seriously cannot beat $75/month. All of the classes I've taken have been totally different, which is cool that they can feature so many different types of teaching. Some of my favorites are Kim Spearmon's Ashtanga class and Kim Winn's Yoga Lunch (prepare to feel the burn!). I've always felt very welcome, as the environment is very unpretentious and friendly. The teachers usually make a point of introducing themselves to new students, which is cool. They have a yoga basics class if you're a new yogi or just trying wanting to focus your practice on the essentials. Totally lovely people, good community, great classes. More...

I'm so excited to say that I'm officially a student at Urban Breath! I really love yoga, and haven't been doing it for the past couple of years, so I decided to stop by to take a class. I live by the Dogtown location, but this one seems to have more classes, so I tried out the 6:30am (yaaaaaawn) class with Joe. Can we talk about that if you're a new student, you can pay $30 for 30 days of unlimited classes? I'm pretty sure that pays for itself in two classes. It's a great way to try a bunch of different classes & see which ones you like. When we first got there, I couldn't help but notice how clean & bright the studio is. Also, Joe could not have been more welcoming and helpful. Filling out the forms only took about two minutes, and you could tell he was happy we were there. The morning yoga class was great... really relaxing and calming, which is good for 6:30am. I'm excited to try some harder classes and work my way back into it, but I'll definitely be doing the early morning class on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Joe's teaching method and pace were both great, and I really did feel totally relaxed. So much that I had to take a nap when I got home (cut me some slack, I'm not used to doing anything workout-related that early in the morning!)I bet after a few more classes this review will get bumped up to five stars. So glad to have found a great yoga studio! More...

Urban breath offers to handy locations, one in Dogtown and their newer studio in the Grove. There are 3 things that make Urban Breath stand out among yoga studios in the STL1. Prices- considerably less expensive than other studios of the same caliber!2. Class variety- UB offers many different styles and difficulty levels for all types of yogis. 3. Overall coolness of the staff fellow yogis- The complete opposite of many other studios where participants and yogis are just way too cool for school. There is a laid back, anyone is welcome vibe. Get your down dog on here! Urban Breath Yoga has two studios, one in the Grove on Manchester Ave and one in Dog-Town on Tamm Ave. Both locations offer a variety of yoga style classes throughout the day, seven days a week. The Tamm location is just one large room set up like a typical yoga studio while the Grove location is fancy in ways I am not used to. The entrance has a reception area where you sign in and can sit and wait for the class before you to finish up. This area also has little lockers to store your personals away. This is  genius since it highly reduces the chance that you will be jarred out of your yoga pants when someone's cell phone goes off during shavasana- all with the added bonus of being able to store your stinky shoes/ socks out of nose reach. They have a $30 for 30 days deal, which is fantastic for yoga beginners to try out different classes, but also great for more experienced yogi's to try different styles/ teachers. There are various options for buying class sessions after- yoga class cards, drop-ins, and memberships. Since the Grove location has two rooms, they can have more than one class running simultaneously. The membership covers both locations, so you get a great deal of options here. More...
