UBBC is a hidden gem in Piedmont Heights! This gym was located right down the street from my house on Rock Springs Rd, and I eventually decided to give it a try. I joined just to use the cardio equipment and the yearly membership is the cheapest you'll find. They have several personal trainers who cater to different needs, but not once was I pressured to sign up for personal training. Everyone was friendly and helpful, but also left me alone to do my workouts in peace without unsolicited advice and without soliciting me to spend more money or sign up for more things. I love to run, and usually neglect strength training. I noticed I was getting weak, and decided on my own I might want to try personal training. I told Carlos that I wanted a female trainer and he paired me up with Melody. After one session I was hooked! I love working out with her. She understands my needs and goals and caters to them perfectly. She makes me look forward to coming to the gym, and I am finally seeing results! I have some muscle and have lost some of that stubborn fat - but most of all I am feeling good and feeling strong. Everyone in the gym is so nice and welcoming, and although not much of a gym rat, I never feel out of place. There are people of all ages, colors, sizes, walks of life, with all sorts of goals that work out there. Its really a great atmosphere and one of the cleanest gyms I have ever worked out in. This is not your big corporate big-box brand gym. Its a small gym, with a family feel that makes you actually want to come back. Don't be put off. This gym is not just for weight lifters, body builders, or serious gym rats (although its for those people too!). You'll fit in no matter what and enjoy your time there. Highly recommended!!!!
