Been here several times now over the past few years. Â This year only once on the way through town. Â I'd "hyped" the place a lot to my girlfriend, who was with me on this trip. She had the Carne Asada Chimichanga with a Coke and I had the Cabo Catoche Chimichanga, also Carne Asada, and a Sweet Tea.Due to the COVID-19 issue, their awesome salsa bar is closed, but just ask them for the flavor you like (Habanero in my case) and they will hook you up. Â Since we arrived around 8:30 pm (they close at 9 pm), they more than hooked me up with a large bowl of the Habanero sauce. Â Nice!Fresh chips are provided once you sit down. Â Your food is brought to you after they create the awesomeness! She loved her Chimichanga, as did I. Â Both of us could not finish it and we took it back to the hotel, along with some chips. Â Should have put some Habanero sauce in the bag. Â Haha. Â Tasty for breakfast the next day!!They were VERY busy right up until closing, but we still were offered to go drinks and the service all around was just awesome! As I mentioned before, all COVID-19 precautions are being enforced for employees and customers.Looking forward to our next visit!! Â This place is awesome!! More...

Best Mexican food in Jackson. Food is always fresh and presented well. My favs are the fish tacos and jumbo tamale. Really good tomatillo salsa, too. I enjoy eating at both locations.

Normally I love Tulum but I’ve just had the worst experience ever. I asked for no pico. Had to pick a huge mound of pico off both my tacos. Tacos had half the amount of other ingredients as usual. I ordered queso extra and for two entrees they gave me only one half bag of chips. For two people and extra dip!!! All this was after waiting patiently for 35 minutes in line. I’m beyond disappointed. I tried to call but the number is constantly busy so I’m putting my grievance here. More...

Just saw the sweetest thing. An elderly couple were going to enter the restaurant, and an employee ran outside and sprayed the handle of the door with disinfectant! They have outside dining and a drive-thru also. This local business had my heart before because of the shredded beef nachos!:) and the really nice owner you probably mistakenly have thought was an employee because of his servant leadership. Now, I see the high quality of care for the customers. Please support this local business, if you are going to be supporting one today. Stay in if you should, but if you are stocking up and get hungry...;) More...

Oh. My. Gosh. While this restaurant isn't in the nicest part of town and you order at the counter, it was some of the best Mexican we' ve had in a long time! Being from Texas we would frequent this place if we weren't just passing through. I had the grilled Baja shrimp tacos and they were absolutely delicious, fresh ingredients, perfectly grilled shrimp and their tomatillo salsa is some of the best I've ever had! It came with rice and beans which were also very good! My husband had the shredded beef tacos and said they were the second best he's ever had in the country! They offered a complimentary salsa bar, which was awesome and it was sooooo cheap! We were stuffed, very satisfied and spent like $20 for all that food and 2 beers! More...

Absolutely fantastic meal. Grilled fish taco and carne asada tacos were great. Salsa selection was great, and it’s obvious everything is fresh. No sign of a walk-in freezer which is always a plus to me! More...

Tulum takes you to a far off beach if you let it. The food is so good!! Where do I even start? Fish tacos.. great! Chicken enchiladas are superb. But personally, I love their chicken and rice bowl with added queso. They use chunks of seasoned chicken instead of shredded. It's delicious! Their tamales are great too. Their queso is the best in Jackson in my opinion. They have a salsa bar with about 6 or more salsa options.. something for everyone! This location offers a drive-thru which is convenient for travelers right off I-40 or for a quick grab and go dinner. They also have a nice patio you can enjoy on a beautiful day. There are lots of Mexican restaurants in Jackson.. but Tulum is one of the best! You won't be disappointed. Plus, I like this location because it is the original. More...

This place offers great food at a great price in a fun and inviting atmosphere. They offer burritos, tacos, etc. in a casual setting where you order your food at the counter and they hand you a number. From there you select a table and first they bring you chips and soon enough your meal. They have a salsa bar where you go choose your salsas. I particularly like their salsa verde and their habanero. I also liked their carrots and jalapeno peppers that is also at the salsa bar. They have both indoor and outdoor seating and since today was a particularly beautiful autumn day, several people opted to sit outside and enjoy the day as well as their meal.I had the tacos diablo with their carne asada and not only was it extremely tasty, the total, tax and everything, was $8.22.I strongly recommend here. It is a great place for a meal. More...

Tulum serves pretty westernized Mexican food, but t hits the spot when you're craving meat, cheese, and corn! Which spot? You can decide that for yourself . Came here for a light dinner consisting of carne asada fajitas, Tulum Fajita salad, elote, and a side of pinto beans. Everything was heavy on the meat and light on spice. Yes, I would've liked the side sauces to actually be spicy (and there are many options, which are self-service!). Regardless, I very much enjoyed my meal and thought it to be comforting Tex-mex in a fun, colorful, and casual environment. That elote is a must if you're into Cotija cheese and white sauce, because they pour it on. My salad was pretty big and had a decent portion of carne. The pinto beans were fine, nothing crazy. And the fajita is a great choice if you want a high variety of ingredients and delicious tortillas to go along with it. Recommend for a laid-back, affordable, family-friendly Mexican restaurant. Stopped in Jackson on our way to AZ and had the good luck to find Tulum. Prices are unbelievably low for how much food you get and it is delicious. My wife had the carne asada fajitas and was overwhelmed when she got her plate (I had to finish it for her and now I can't move after also eating my own tacos). Excellent restaurant that we both highly recommend. More...
