I did a Google search for weight loss coach and Truce popped up.  I am so glad I was able to work with Sarah!  I was trying to lose weight without understanding the why of how I had gained weight.  I had family members and friends who tried to be helpful but were not.  I wanted an objective person to help me.  Sarah walked me through ways I was sabotaging myself and how to overcome them.  She was always encouraging and quickly answered all my emails.  Flexibility and sincerity are her strengths.  She personalized everything for me based on what I needed each session.  I found out I was pre-diabetic at the beginning of our time together and she helped me advocate for myself and provided wonderful resources to help me avoid developing diabetes.  I always looked forward to our phone sessions because I knew she would be objective and always had my back. I originally hired Sarah to help me manage my weight gain during pregnancy but she turned out to be so much more than a "weightless coach". She is flexible and tailors each session to your needs. I prefered that our sessions flowed organically so there were some weeks where we focused on my emotional well-being as opposed to which healthy eating techniques worked for me. You truly begin to understand the intimate connection between mind and body. If you're looking for a quick fix or magic pill, then you're out of luck. But if you're truly committed to what makes you tick, incorporating small but steady changes, and living YOUR best life, then don't hesitate to give Sarah a call! I appreciate that she listens with intent, often jotting down notes during our sessions - asking for clarifications and information in deeper detail. She is always encouraging feedback to ensure that you are getting the most out of each session. She understands that there is NO one-size-fIts-all solution; your sessions will be tailored to what will work for YOU - expect some trial and error. 01/24/2019For the last 9 months I have been working with Sarah Sutton, Certified Wellness and Transformation Coach, to help me construct a plan to accomplish my unmet goals. I am a Registered Nurse. I thought I had this goal accomplishing and planning thing taken care of, but no, life has shown otherwise. I figured I knew what to do and when to do it to make it happen, but not so. I allowed many things to keep me from caring for and loving myself. I wasn't very high on my priory list. I had a pride problem and didn't think I needed a coach or anyone's help. To achieve what I believe would be my best God-filled life, Sarah had me to honestly look at and evaluate myself. She helped me to see who I was in comparison to who I want to be and how to work on and manifest love in everything I do, especially toward myself. It's a process. Sarah was informative, truthful and patient. Now I believe and view myself as important  and valuable enough to be placed near the top of my priority list, without guilt or apologies. I have a clear plan with instructions that I, with Sarah's guidance, constructed, so it is very individualized. Sarah truly has a gift! As my life coach she helped me “connect the dots” among various aspects of my life and helped me realize how interwoven they are (healthy eating, stress reduction, job satisfaction, etc). I also appreciated how she helped me envision different scenarios in my life – encouraging me to go beyond what I would normally imagine for myself. For example, my favorite coaching exercise was one we did in exploring my ideal career, which allowed me to identify what makes me happy and successful. That was immensely helpful as I navigated the job opportunity and interview process with my now new company. I think my biggest breakthrough has been the ability to pause and “take inventory” of situations rather than react in an immediate and sometimes negative manner. I now have real stress management tools that empower me to change course. The life coaching experience was great and definitely worth the investment. It’s a style I wasn’t familiar with and moved me beyond just talking about change to synthesizing lessons and taking action to address what I really wanted. Working with Sarah as my weight loss coach has been a wonderful experience that has exceeded my expectations. My satisfaction with my eating habits, body, and belief in my own abilities have each increased four-fold! (Sarah actually uses metrics to assess this, so I know in real numbers what value I’ve received.) Unlike most weight loss programs this individual approach was key, as what works for others may not work for me. At the same time, I’ve learned that weight loss isn’t the panacea I always thought it was, and I’m working to count my blessings and see wellness in a whole new perspective. I have learned strategies to keep me in weight loss maintenance for two years now and am actively working toward an even healthier lifestyle, which I was never able to do before. (This is a huge success I never realized, since I was always after the next lowest weight I thought I “should” be.) For example, I am more in tune with my eating habits; I realize that negative self-talk has been a major part of my eating problem, and now I readily identify it, stop, and turn it around. Sarah has a gift for cheering on my goals and accomplishments no matter how big or small. Just when I think I can’t move forward I learn something new to apply each time we coach. I know myself better and am much more positive about my journey than ever. Hiring Sarah as my wellness coach was one of the best decisions I have ever made. She has been an instrumental part of my success throughout my weight loss journey. Working together we were able to identify roadblocks that stopped me from succeeding in the past. She was there for me on good days to celebrate my successes, and bad ones to motivate me and encourage me to keep going. Throughout the entire time, she held me accountable, tracked my progress, and taught me skills I needed to reach my goal and help maintain it in the future. I'm posting this review for my wife, who does not have an account on Yelp:I was initially reluctant when Sarah recommended transformational coaching sessions as a way to combat my thickening waist.  What was the point, really? - I already knew what was wrong: I ate too many desserts, and I didn't need a professional to tell me the solution was to go on a diet.  (I just needed to stop eating desserts long enough to diet.)  When I finally gave Sarah Sutton's coaching sessions a try, I was astonished to discover -- during the first session -- that my cause and my solution were both off track.Sarah gently probed beneath the surface.  Instead of asking "how many desserts", she focused on "why".  I remember my jaded and flippant answer about not being fulfilled in specific key areas of my life and the joy I felt when I ate desserts... and I remember the quiet thunderclap that followed when I finally understood the connection.  Sarah's solution wasn't to cut out desserts; instead, we talked about transforming the underlying causes so I wouldn't rely on desserts to fulfill me.  That was 20 pounds (and several years) ago.  Sarah Sutton's transformational coaching challenged me to explore what I thought I knew in new ways, and it was much more effective than yo-yo dieting. My biggest payoffs in working with Truce coaching and Sarah Sutton has been a significant increase in my connection to my body along with satisfaction with my physical activity; I joined a gym and discovered that I like exercise! I can't say enough great things about Truce and its Transformational Coaching program.  After struggling with my weight my entire life, I tried the program - and it has made all the difference!  Having never participated in "coaching" I wasn't sure what to expect.  But I'm so incredibly glad I took the leap.  Truly life-changing breakthroughs awaited me.  Coach Sarah is extremely talented at what she does. In each session I discover a new strength or attitude that empowers me to be more grateful for my friends or see something in a new way that makes me excited to take the reins of my life in hand. No matter the topic I'm wanting to change (from energy and stress management to relationship fulfillment to personalized nutrition) Sarah's probing insights always bring a shift that leaves me feeling lighter, freer, and ready to go! She has such a breadth of experience in coaching technique. I have worked with Sarah off and on for the last 6 years and her collaborative and caring approach has enabled me to meet my goals. I came to her with the single goal of losing weight, but based on our discussions, she helped me articulate other goals that would be necessary to do that. In my case, it was social connectedness and a realistic exercise plan. At each meeting we set up very specific next steps towards each of the goals and I decided what I could commit to working on until our next meeting. Sarah checked in with me via email to see how I was doing both in accomplishments and challenges and what in particular I might want to work on at our next meeting. At the meeting we reviewed more extensively how I had progressed or not progressed and then set new goals. Making and keeping these tiny commitments enabled me to meet my broad and difficult goals.With her coaching approach, I learned how to eat intuitively rather than the rigid eating rules I had set up for myself. Over the last 6 years, I have very gradually lost and kept off 65 lbs through intuitive eating and working with her to ensure that my life is balanced. I have come back as my life has changed so Sarah could help me identify, articulate and achieve new goals.  For example, although I am maintaining a good weight, I now need to develop ways to eat healthy with minimal cooking. She doesn't give me broad suggestions but rather very specific ones and we keep reviewing  what works, and what doesn't. (I like the recipes on her website.) I got connected with Sarah through a referral. I needed help figuring out my next career move. I had a healthy skepticism professional coaching, but decided to give it a try since she offers a free consultation. I think rapport is key - and it was there from the first call. I felt like Sarah was able to balance listening with probing questions, especially about the root causes of my hestiant behaviors, e.g., making excuses about connecting with others. She also adapted to my moods and pushed me when I needed it. I completed 10 sesions with Sarah over the course of three months via Skype, which actually worked better than I anticipated. My experience working with Sarah has been nothing short of amazing. I started at my doctor's recommendation, so it was originally about weight. While working with Sarah has changed my approach to food and exercise, my whole life has really been affected. We started with a mindful approach to food. I now only eat when I'm hungry. My food cravings are virtually non-existent. I crave going to the gym now to work out (this, alone, is mind-blowing for me!)We've also worked on balancing work, life, and family. This has brought me peace. I know how to prioritize and know how to say "when" and "no". I know how to handle my working-mom-guilt.We did one exercise on how to handle things that make you mad or upset. While I've used it several times, I've even guided my 7 year old through it and it worked for him.Overall, I've incorporated mindfulness into everything that I do, from how I eat to interacting with other people.
