We sent our puppy to puppy bootcamp and she came back well mannered but with high anxiety - apparently they used shock collars as we found out. We hired Jay to help Katie with her anxiety and also to teach her not to counter surf and to not go into the kitchen unless invited. Jay told us to buy a lavender collar and a thundershirt to help with the anxiety and he also calmed her with "positive reinforcement training". I hate to use the cliche but Jay really is a dog whisperer. He somehow got our crocodile of a puppy to nearly stop all biting and jumping in just 5 sessions. Cooper learned sit, stay, come, touch, off, no, heel, settle, drop it, take it, leave it, ring the bell, and a couple more that I forget right now. Cooper is a completely different puppy now and I think he is happy for it as well - he has guidance and direction and loves performing, whether it's treats or praise. Jay is very professional and very good to work with. He has a very calm and consistent manner which really worked with my very overexcitable 8 month old puppy, Rosie. He was always on time and gave us more time at each session than needed in order to really solidify the skills addressed. Jay helped us with basic skills (such as sit, implied stay, leave it, etc) and also worked with us successfully on some difficult behaviors that we needed help with, such as keeping Rosie in her”place” away from the dinner table during our mealtime and teaching her to use bells at the door to let us know she had to go out. Our dog was very fearful of other dogs. Jay took his time with our Nala and built her trust then slowly edged closer to other dogs (starting way in the distance), rewarding her with treats along the way, and after 5 sessions Nala was non-reactive to other dogs across the street, which was a huge difference compared to before. What do you love most about your job?
Working with dogs is clearly what I love most about this job, which I would not call a job as I don't feel like I work a day in my life. I also enjoy seeing the results from my work, and the smile on the owners' faces when they see the completed work.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I have worked in corporate america and had my own businesses through the years, but I never really found my passion until I started working with dogs at a nearby animal shelter. It wasn't long before I realized that dog training was my destiny.
Why should our clients choose you?
I believe I am a natural dog whisperer – there is no other way to put it. The smile on myface as I train shows that I care deeply about the well-being of all dogs, and will make your dog happy and comfortable to be trained.
I have had many dogs of my own over the years, and trained each using only positive method techniques. I have had great success training dogs of all breeds, ages, sizes, and genetic backgrounds, and have developed a knack for solving the problems of difficult dogs, whether they are in NYC, Great Neck, or Huntington.
Of course, my pedigree includes certification from a top dog training school, the International School for Certified Dog Trainers (ISCDT). I am also a graduate of Brandon McMillan’s Master Class.

We only use positive dog training methods. That means your dog will always be treated kindly with us. Happy voices, treats, and repetition are the only ways to train. We consider punishment and unnecessary devices such as prong or shock collars to be archaic.
