What do you love most about your job?
All of my life I have had a love for all animals. Dogs, cats, bunnies, guinea pigs, hamsters, horses, and even wildlife. Animals are drawn to me as well. They know I am an animal person. I also love helping people. We are living in a busy world! If I can give people peace of mind so that they can vacation or work stress-free it does my heart good.
What inspired you to start your own business?
Top Dog is a dream that I have had for over 25 years! In the early 1990s when I was in college a friend told her that they knew someone who had a business where people paid them to take care of their pets while they were on vacation. As a BIG animal lover all of my life I thought “Really? Could something like this actually exists? That sounds like PURE HEAVEN!” Since then it has always been something I have dreamed of. I even had a name picked out..”Top Dog Pet Sitting”… I thought “One day she was going to do it!….One Day!”
After college, I began working at Southwestern Bell/ATT. At “the phone company” I worked in many different departments over the years. I was a Fortune 500 and Winners Circle member 15 years in a row.I was also a part of the original U-verse Marketing team. While I was happy at ATT I never forgot her dream of owning my own pet sitting company.
In early 2010 my world was turned upside down when I found out that her young daughter had a life-threatening condition. This ordeal put everything into perspective. I decided that life was too short to not be chasing your dreams.
In 2011 I founded Top Dog Pet Sitting and Dog Walking Service with the goal of providing compassionate, professional pet care services to clients in the Fort Worth area. I am passionate about offering the very best care possible and I treat each pet as if they were a member of my own family.

WE HAVE THE TECHNOLOGY
Top Dog is the only locally owned company in the Fort Worth area that has GPS Tracking with real-time visit reports that include photos and updates! You get these reports via email or you can get at our NEW APP!
We use a high-tech software scheduling system to ensure that no pet is ever left behind. We also have an optional customer portal where you can book service, make payments, and see your GPS check-ins/outs. You can access this portal online through your PC, tablet, or the APP! You will also be able to see confirmations for future and past service as well as invoices. This is a feature that our customers just LOVE!
AMAZING STAFF
All of our employees love animals and it shows! Our sitters have experience in the pet care industry or working with rescues. We run background checks on every sitter and they have all completed a pet first aid and CPR classes. In addition, we supply bios and references for each sitter. This will allow you to get to know your sitter before our in-home consultation and contact other clients that have personally had them take care of their pets and home. Read about the Top Dog Team.
We have a backup system so that if a sitter is ill or involved in an accident a back sitter will be able to come to take care of your furry one.
CUSTOMIZED, COMPREHENSIVE CARE
We know that every pet and home is different, so we offer customized, comprehensive care. Before your first service, we schedule an in-home consultation with you and your pet. This will allow you to meet your sitter and the owner and show us exactly what you and your pet(s) need. Your pet will also see the same sitter every time so they can form a bond.
SAFETY FOR YOUR PETS AND HOME
The Safety of Your Pet and Home are important to us. We only offer one-on-one care so we do not walk dogs in packs. In addition, we will always set you up with a sitter that lives within 10 miles of your home. This ensures that if an emergency arises someone is close by. We also have an emergency back up system so that if a sitter is ill or in an accident your pets will still be cared for.
Dog Sitting Visits
With our in-home pet sitting services, you can relax knowing that your dog is being cared for by a professional, dedicated pet sitter in the comfort of your own home. Plus, we’ll make sure your house is safe and secure, too, by giving it that “lived-in” look while you’re away.

Overnight Pet Sitting
If you need to be away for a night or more, our Overnight Pet Sitting service can provide you and your pet with extra security and peace of mind.
This exclusive service offers all the same benefits as our regular Pet Sitting service but with the added perk of an overnight sleeping buddy. Your dog or cat will enjoy the company of a professional pet sitter for 10-12 hours and you’ll enjoy the security of knowing your home is occupied while you’re gone.
