This was the first time I had professional photos taken and it was a terrific experience. Tim greeted me at the door and was so warm and welcoming. When I showed him the outfits I brought along with the jewelry, he recommend we shoot several combinations to make sure what I had in mind worked. he was great about giving me his honest opinion about what worked and didn't work. He was so encouraging that I felt completely at ease. He even went out of his way and created a separate file with his favorite photos of the session when he sent me the shots. What a great experience it was to work with Tim and his makeup artist/hair stylist Carla! Being in front of a camera is not exactly in my comfort zone, but Tim and Carla both made it easy and fun. I had the 3 different looks with hair and make up package (1 included above) and the experience with both Tim and his stylist was excellent. The whole process does take a few hours, but was well worth it and fun. Tim has a great sense of humor and is able to get you to relax your face and body to get the best shots. Highly recommend getting hair and makeup included for women, as you need alot for print (just to look natural) and there is no way I would know how to put that much on in real life. I am retiring from government and entering the private sector, so I needed a professional portrait. At age 60, I was not eager to sit for a "head shot. After leaving the world of big corporate after 15 years, I have spent the past 2 months on a personal rebranding mission with the goal of putting a profile together that not only spoke of my experiences but better beings out my personality. My top priority was to have new headshots done that were more than just a "nice shot."I had a great intro chat with Tim to first learn about him- how he started, what motivates him in his work, and how the life adventure that he's been on since picking up a camera as a child. It was important for me to get a better idea of how he sees life through his lenses, both literally and figuratively. I then shared with him my goals and desires with my new headshots, and the message that I wanted to convey with the different looks and poses. I look a lot younger than I am, and often spend the first moments meeting someone by establishing my experience and seniority (41). He did a great job with different looks that conveyed confidence and authority without losing a bit of youthful, subtle, whimsical charm. I sent a Pinterest board his way of what I liked and he gave his opinions on why certain looks would or wouldn't work with me. I appreciated the direction... he is the pro, not me, and gave good direction to make sure we had the "nice shot" and "right message." His studio is great. Easy to find, inspiring and special place that helps get you in the zone. Music pumping (because we both wanted it) to bring life to the shoot. We worked with a certain pose and lighting, with and without my glasses, and stopped every few minutes for a quick look. Some ideas just didn't work and we both agreed, quickly discarded them, and steered ourselves to the right direction. I appreciated the confidence he had, but also the humility in acknowledging that a certain shot/look didn't work. I chose one shot for him to touch up, uploaded to LinkedIn, and was surprised how many hits I got just from the photo change from the typical boring corporate shot to something with more personality. I have 100+ shots from the shoot that I intend on using for personal branding material (website, speaker notes, bios). As I continue through this career transition, I look forward to working with him again on more environmental/in action shots. Lastly, working with Tim has inspired me to take my beginner DSLR camera and try to take my own hobby to the next level. I'm so impressed by Tim and make up artist James. They helped me feel comfortable and beautiful to get the perfect professional headshots that I was looking for. He helped calm my nerves, made the entire session fun, light-hearted and the results were amazing!! I LOVE my headshot! Wonderful experience, even after an early snafu where we had to postpone last minute because the hair/makeup person was ill. I came for acting headshots. I was actually having a miserable morning when I walked in and worried that that stress would show up in the pictures. Wow! My daughter's session with Tim was such a great experience. Tim Coburn and Carla Pressley took time to understand what we were looking for in the session, they selected outfits from the many that we brought, Carla worked her magic with hair and make-up - making sure that my 16 year old daughter still looked 16, but a very glamourous and put together 16. Tim helped provide guidance for poses and took as many shots as necessary, stopping to have us check to see if we liked what he had taken so far before proceeding to take more.
