We hired DJ Joe Manifesto for our wedding this past October.  I have to admit, I was really impressed with him - not only as a DJ, but also as a MC.  He was highly organized and very professional.  He provided us with worksheets, song lists, and timelines months in advance.  He made sure that he had all of the names of everyone in our bridal party (and the correct pronunciation), our timeline, and other pertinent information needed to help our wedding day run smoothly.   The day of the wedding he came early to setup.  After the cocktail hour, he orchestrated the grand entrance of the bridal party, speeches, special dances, cake cutting, and the bouquet and garter toss.  When it was time to party ... boy, did we PARTY.  Everyone, and I mean everyone, danced.  Guests that we assumed would leave early or wouldn't step a foot on the dance floor, stayed and danced. DJ Joe Manifesto was heaven-sent for my company's corporate trade show in September. I was juggling a million details and customer invites and did not have the bandwith to create a compelling playlist, but Joe ran with my basic suggestions and played perfect selections the entire night! Not only were Joe's music choices and pacing on point, he was incredibly easy to work with. He emailed me to clarify all needs ahead of time, and I did not have to seek him out or wait for return phone calls to have details sorted - this was invaluable. He also played through clean up, even after our main guests left and our just our employees and sponsors were connecting, continuing the fun for our team. Just had our wedding dj'd by the amazing Joe!You're a rockstar, but without the overbearing persona of one. You had no trouble making the event about us, and on behalf of my wife and I, we really appreciate the excellent communication you kept up with us, months/weeks/days leading up to the event. Truly a professional, and I could rest easy knowing that you've had our backs and seriously had the best of intentions for us from day 1. We hired Joe for a party in our backyard recently.I give Joe/DJ Thump sound 5* for following reasons:* Very professional to work with* Great personality, polite and easy to talk to* He showed up on time, delivered everything as expected. Brought all equipment, setup well ahead of party* Took ALL our inputs for the type of music and played it all. We hired him 2 mos before the party, he checked in every few weeks/days before the party to make sure we were all in sync. He even inquired about the dress code for the party.* Had a great selection of latest BOLLYWOOD music - blew us away. Mind you, this is in additional to the latest American pop/dance music* AND THE #1 REASON JOE GETS 5* - MY KIDS LOVED HIM. You don't need to shop around, just go with Thump Sound. Our DJ Joe Manifesto knows how to run things and I had no worries even though this was our first experience hiring a DJ. The sound equipment was excellent, did not take up too much space, and installation seamless. We met Joe twice to discuss wedding reception for our son and daughter-in-law. Communication was just right. It was great to meet him early on and again when it was days before the wedding reception.  It was easy to follow the Thump Sound template to personalize the program. Sometimes we were not sure of our decisions and Joe gave great advice as we worked on this. He also guided us if he noticed something needed to be tweaked regarding the program. Same attention to detail about our plans for the layout at the venue. So  helpful with all his experience and us being new at this! Announcements were well done,  including the introduction of wedding party, beautiful and hilarious toasts, traditional folk dance for all our guests to participate in, and a video of our son and daughter-in-law exchanging vows in Europe. About the music - all was perfect!  The bride and groom submitted a dance  song list from afar, out of state. Joe put together great stuff for background music with only a few suggestions from us. Several months ago we had been referred to Thump Sound and Joe Manifesto for our DJ needs...a wedding reception for my recently married son and new daughter-in-law at Castlewood on Saturday -- and what a terrific referral it turned out to be.  After Joe understood our overall plan (which was fairly non-specific and scattered -- it was our first wedding reception) he guided us to a specific and well-planned itinerary for the entire event.  A couple of months ahead of time, he met with us and the event coordinator at the venue and we developed an overall layout.  After our general concept was explained he gave us a template, including hundreds of song possibilities for cocktail hour, dinner, and dancing, and through a few iterations we eventually reached a well thought out and complete agenda for the event.  The itinerary included Joe as emcee, which worked flawlessly.  Joe was very patient with us during the process and provided tons of feedback and suggestions, most of which we incorporated.  The reception was a blast and we received compliments from all of our guests about Joe's DJ and emcee work.We also had video needs for our event, which I knew (thought) I could handle on my own.  Well, as it turned out, during the event, I needed some assistance with making sure my videos worked seamlessly, and though Joe was not hired to help with my videos, he nevertheless bailed me out of a near disaster  -- and it worked!  So he is flexible and resourceful too!Bottom line, Joe and Thump Sound are professional, courteous, upbeat, timely, responsive, encouraging, and very, very helpful.  My wife and I learned that planning and pulling off a reception can be a stressful undertaking (understatement) -- and it was great that Joe held our hand throughout the process and the event, to make it a wonderful day and evening for our son and daughter-in-law.Plus, the Castlewood event coordinator was very impressed with Joe (including his setup, equipment and professionalism) and looks forward to working with Thump Sound again.It was a great day, largely through the efforts of Joe and Thump Sound. Joe DJ'd our wedding last weekend and everything was absolutely perfect! He was very responsive and flexible with what we wanted and he worked a lot with us to get the unique song choices that we wanted. He was able to provide guidance in areas that we were absolutely clueless about (I mean, we hadn't planned a wedding before!). My husband was big on having a better sound system than he's heard at other weddings and Thump Sound definitely provided that! Joe was our DJ for our wedding that recently took place on August 8. Choosing Joe as our wedding DJ was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding! From the beginning, he was professional and responsive and took the time to find out what was important to us on the day of the wedding. He made suggestions for music when we needed it and made sure to keep in contact with us in the months leading up to our wedding to ensure the music was exactly how we wanted it on the day of the wedding. He also took the time to call us the week before the wedding to discuss the timeline for the wedding day and to double check that all our final details were correct. On the day of our wedding, he was truly amazing and our guests and wedding party had an amazing time dancing. There were no awkward pauses during the dancing as everyone was dancing and having a great time all the way until the event ended! He made the transitions for music during our ceremony and reception very smooth and was able to adapt to some minor changes that we had to make during the day of. My best friend Todd and his partner (now husband) were planning their wedding and put me in charge of the DJ. I met with at least four DJ's in the Bay Area, and the only one who truly stood out was DJ Joe Manifesto of Thump Sound. Joe was so easy to work with, and his talent and work ethic was impeccable. I loved his ideas, and he was always willing to listen to my input, as he understood important this day was to all of us. The entire night from start to finish was amazing. Joe directed everyone throughout the wedding, keeping everything well organized. The music was a perfect mix that accommodated everyone's tastes, and the dance floor was never empty as Joe never missed a beat! That is a true testament to a great DJ. I attended my friends wedding who had it up in Napa area.  I must say the Dj did a great job working with the newlyweds prior to the big day,  since this wedding ran super smooth and there was never a dull moment.  The DJ they used was DJ Joe.  He did a great job keeping the night moving. Many weddings can drag on or be a bit dull, but he kept the music rolling with some great acoustic remixes of classic tracks during dinner.  It made the dinner period more energizing and kept my attention. He did a good job keeping the crowd engaged during the dancing portion. He brought a really solid sound system that filled the room with the right amount of bass.  It really was nice to see he wasn't the cheesy corny talkative DJ. He did his job with announcements and didn't drag it on.  He let the music speak for the Night and it kept us on the dance floor.  His system seemed pretty new and not some 15 year old relic.  The led lighting and special lights really lit up the dance floor.  I have his card and hope to use him in the future for a SF corporate events or future holiday party. Joe was the DJ for our wedding that took place in August. From day 1, he was extremely responsive and easy to work with. We received several comments from our guests on how much they loved the DJ because everything flowed so smoothly. There were no awkward pauses during the wedding and there were great transitions between the ceremony, cocktail hour, reception and dancing. His sound equipment is great and he also offers wireless mics or a mic stand during the reception. Joe was incredibly thorough with his timeline for the wedding. He sends you a wedding event timeline with all your song requests and the specific list of songs you want. You can be as picky or carefree about songs you want. I gave Joe a list of songs I wanted during the actual ceremony and Joe sent me many variations of the songs that I wanted (guitar version, violin, band, instrumental, with lyrics, etc). You can give him a certain song that you like and he can try to find a instrumental cover of that song performed by someone else, or can take a song from YouTube and convert it to play.We probably contacted 20 other DJs as well but Joe was the most reasonably priced and easiest to work with. If you're looking for a patient DJ that works hand in hand with you to make your song selections and has great ideas, I would highly recommend Joe. More...

Another 5 star review for Joe!! He just DJ'd my wedding last month and he was aaaamazing from the beginning of the whole experience to the end! ! All throughout my planning process he was always there to help, super convenient to contact through text or email and always so fast with his replies.  He always reminded me if I had any other wedding questions even out of the music department he was there to help. Amazing amazing amazing.  And at the wedding he was greeaattt!! We had a lot of different music genres I was slightly worried about them sounding stupid together but he mixed it perfectly.  The crowd loved him everyone was dancing the night away the dance floor was packed the last hour of the event.  The wedding was so much fun and I owe it all to him!! Joe DJ'd our wedding in Sonoma and was AWESOME! I was scared about having a DJ not know how to mix songs, not have the music selection, or play songs I didn't like.  Joe set up telephone meetings before the wedding in which he carefully reviewed our song selection, went through every detail of the reception, and was totally on the ball.  He arrived on time, looked and acted professionally, had all the right equipment, and DJ'd an amazing night.  At one point, he ran out of songs we gave him and he quickly improvised and played songs that he could tell our guests would like.  He was also able to mix songs all night and read the crowd to keep the crowd pumped and dancing.  I am extremely demanding and have high standards, but this guy far exceeded expectations.  I would recommend him for any occasion. I am very impressed at how easy going Joe was. Many people came up to me and said how kind and open to suggestions he was. We hired him for our wedding and during all the drama of lining everyone up, he stayed calm and helped out my event coordinator.  Before our wedding we sent him the list of songs we wanted and he was able to get all the music we wanted. DJ Joe provided the music and emceeing at my wedding in August in Galt. From the day we booked him to even a few weeks after the wedding, Joe was responsive, professional, caring, and just perfect really. Working with DJ Joe Manifesto was the best part of our wedding planning experience.  He was upfront about prices, gave us suggestions and tips to achieve the effects we were looking for.  He was punctual, got us and helped to keep us organized.  He was everything we could ask for and more. He seems to truly love weddings and the wedding experience.  He was so thoughtful about the entire process.And of course our day was magnificent.  The ceremony was beautiful, a dream, the cocktail hour was tons of fun and even the venue coordinator came up to us to speak highly of the music, and the reception was grooving the whole night through.DJ Joe is professional and so on point it will blow your mind.  You don't have to worry when you work with him.  He asks a lot of questions, gets all the details, follows-up promptly.  There are not enough words to describe how much stress he took off our shoulders by just being caring and professional.DJ Joe Manifesto was on our Venue's old preferred Vendor list.  As the venue changed policies etc they updated their wedding packet and we noticed Joe wasn't on the list.  Hopefully this was just an oversight because DJ Joe was really one of the few vendors on that list that lived up to what we would consider a Preferred Vendor standard.Thank you DJ Joe Manifesto!!! The perfect balance of fun and professional is only one of the many things that I can use to describe DJ Joe Manifesto. He has been hired for two events at Notre Dame de Namur University (Belmont, CA) and has had outstanding reviews from all our guests each time. He does his best to cater to the client's needs from providing great samples of his work, to working through all negotiations and paperwork, to giving you a party planning sheet that he uses to create an awesome playlist! He is definitely one of the my go-to DJ's and will be for a very long time.Professionalism -- prompt and ready to work. He takes care of everything himself. We are so happy we hired DJ Joe for our wedding! He sent us the typical DJ form to get an idea of what type of music we liked and what songs we wanted to have played during our cocktail and reception hours. We gave him specific songs as well as some genres for the two different "portions" of our wedding (cocktail dinner hours as well as reception dancing hours); however with how busy our lives were leading up to it, we never completed our lists.  We were rushed and so we gave him about 30 different songs or so. We were nervous that maybe we didn't give him enough, but were we wrong!!!  I could not have picked better songs myself! He knows enough about all genres of music that the entire night people kept saying "what a great song!". Numerous guests came up to us and stated what great music we had - both during the reception itself, as well as afterwards. The dance floor did not empty one time during the entire 4 hour reception, and I know the majority of that has to do with DJ Joe and his excellent song selections.He also emceed our bridal party introductions, as well as the different speeches throughout the dinner. He reminded our guests to sign the guest book. He dressed to impress as well, which fit in with our beautiful hotel, as well as with our wedding attire.  I highly recommend hiring Thump Sounds, especially DJ Joe, for your next party - whether it's a birthday party, engagement party, reunion or a wedding - you won't be disappointed!!! I have nothing but positive things to say! I've dealt with some flaky DJ's in my past but this company was a breath of fresh air!  I have used Thump Sound a couple times and not once did they let me down! Dj Joe put amazing songs together for our Halloween party. They included new hits and some awesome old throw backs. Everyone loved every song that played and we danced all night long.
