Edit: updated from 1 star to 5. They worked to make things right, and I am satisfied now. Excited to have my wedding there next year! I really wanted to have my wedding there for a specific date, and I was thrilled that during my second visit of the venue, the event staff told me and my matron of honor that she had blocked off the date for us and was going to send us the paperwork to move forward asap. Days passed, and she never sent me the contract, so I reached out and she said she couldn't remember which date I wanted. When I reminded her, she told me someone else booked it already. Like... I understand that things get booked, but why on earth did she tell me that she had blocked off the date for me? It's a beautiful venue, but they broke my heart by booking out from under me. More...

One of our great heritage sites. They do need to "bone up" on the history of the house and city.

Beautiful antique house, my brother was married here. The grounds and house itself are very well taken care of. Perfect for the small wedding we had. Beautiful grounds for the wedding pictures, and easy access from the parking lot. Definitely recommend. Only problem from my understanding is you have to book a viewing, you can't just wander in. Life long admiration for Fort Worth Landmarks. My mom worked on the restoration some time ago and I got access to a lot of normally inaccessible area's. . Interesting stuff. The food truck events at the carriage house are cool also. More...

We visited this historical house as a two part deal along with the Ball-Eddleman-McFarland House. When you purchase tickets at one of the houses you get entry into the other as well, so it's a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon in historic Fort Worth. Personally, we enjoyed this house a bit more because there was more to see and there was some really neat character to the house. The history behind it is really interesting, but what took the cake was the life-size doll house that was in one of the rooms. It was very intricate with every detail thought out with functional electricity once upon a time. What is very important to note is that Historic Fort Worth is a non-profit organization that helps maintain these historic homes. They don't receive any help from the city and all the work done on restoration are volunteer work. $20 to tour 2 historic mansions is a small fee, not enough for them to put much towards keeping up the houses. If you enjoyed the tour and have some spare change to spare, please donate to them! More...

In the late 70's, before this 1900 mansion was restored to it's original glory, I visited this place as a haunted house on Halloween. The fact that this house survived the wrecking ball was one miracle, being restored close to how it looked during it's first 10 years of ownership was another. After being painted white inside by the Junior League, the restoration project revealed original craftsman stenciling, beautiful wood walls and other suprises.  Some original pieces are here too, adding to this opulent portrait of Victorian Texas luxury life.Tours Thursday - Sunday only at limited times.  No reservations.  $15 includes a tour of the Ball-Eddleman-McFarland House. This facility can be rented out for parties and wedding receptions.
