After meeting Barrett from Wood Wizzard I was hopeful and excited about having my parent’s heirloom pine dining room table and hutch refinished.
The table came back with stain drips and smears and overspray on the legs causing them to feel like sandpaper. I reached out to see if this could be addressed even offering to bring the table to them or do it myself with instruction. Barrett said that they would address the issue the next time
they had work in my area. After 6 months of waiting, periodically reaching out to Barrett with limited response, they had a job near me and Barrett said they would stop by to repair the finish issues. They never showed up on the days they said they were available. I finally hired a restoration expert. I was told that the table had been poorly refinished. He pointed out the milky glaze applied to the tabletop to cover a black area from improper stain application and the fact that the table did not match the hutch. This was an expensive project for me and I am very disappointed in this company and the way I was treated.

I inherited a lot of beautiful wood furniture from my grandparents. Over the years some of the wood was damaged, and in the 60's both of my grandmothers painted some of it. The accurately named Wood Wizzard repaired, restored, or refinished (as needed and appropriate) a cedar chest, a dining room table, and a set of nesting tables, bringing my beloved but battered family heirlooms back to their original beauty. Next up is to strip and refinish a painted mahogany dresser, and I will have several jobs for them after that. I am so pleased to have found people who understand why these things are important to me and take as much pleasure as I in seeing the lives of these pieces extended for several more generations. OMG these guys are amazing! So, I had an interesting project. I wanted a full standing to low ground sitting desk. I gave them a plank of wood and an ironing table. It was their first time dealing with such a project but The Wood Wizzard guys worked their magic! The desk is so beautiful and amazingly sturdy, I love it so much! Wood Wizzard is highly highly recommended! This ice cream chair has been in the family for decades and it was looking pretty beat up. What’s your interior design process?
We do what's right for the clients needs. This is a combination of style, realistic functional use, and budget. We take the time to get to know our clients, what they're like, what drives them and how they live. This shapes how someone uses the space they live in. We weave the needs of using existing furniture into a new decor, allowing our clients to hold onto and reuse the family heirloom and history pieces in their lives.
Which interior design styles can you cater for?
All. The ones we may not specialize in, we work with partner companies that do. We are a finishing shop with connections built in to our process that most designers don't have at their fingertips. We work directly with partner designers if your style isn't our speciality. We focus on realists, creatives, and fabricate a plan with our clients. If you're looking for specific (art deco, oriental) we can do that, or bring in a partner at no additional cost to you.
What do you love most about your job?
Knowing that when we're done, people are going to be using and loving their space and furniture day in and day out. The memories that will be created, the growth as people, becomes part of the furnitures' story as much as the furniture becomes a part of the people's stories. I always say I hope the equation is more laughter than tears...whether it's a cuddle on a couch we helped design, or a table that was refinished that becomes the center piece of family conversations.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I grew up doing this. Furniture and space is in my coding. I stepped away to become a touring musician, audio engineer, studio designer, then worked in advertising. Getting back to my roots is truly a pleasure. I'm a creative outside the box thinker that reins it all in for the clients use. The opportunity to going back and be my own boss, help my family continue this legacy, and now grow it into my own was a 'choose your own adventure' I couldn't pass up.

Refinish
Hand strip, sand, stain, glaze, tone, as needed. Layers of protective sealer then a high-quality custom mixed acrylic-lacquer top coat finish in the sheen and luster of your choosing: flat, dull, matte, semi-gloss, gloss, hi-gloss.
Reupholster
Complete removal of current/old fabric, repair as needed, upgrade foam and support systems as needed, replace with client selected and approved fabric creating the custom look they desire
Bespoken Furniture
Custom creation of furniture and built in installations for home and office. We source your selected woods, craft them into the design and style of your choosing, and finish them with The Wood Wizzard renown color and top coat.
