Today I picked up the CUTEST cupcakes for my granddaughter's birthday and I skipped out of Sweet Retreat and....BAM! I dropped one of the trays and it flopped upside down. ..I almost fell on the ground bawling.I crawled back to the store and they dropped everything and put together new cupcakes for me. I cannot express how grateful I am to them.Not only do they have fabulous customer service - every time I order something for a special occasion I am thrilled. They turn baking into an art. Sweet Retreat was my favorite cupcake shop before I got married and it's my favorite hands down after my wedding! Mariah and the staff at Sweet Retreat so helpful and exceeded my expectations for what we wanted. We knew we wanted cupcakes and a small cake for us. The flavors we picked were a hit with everyone and they were all gone the next day! The cake is to die for that my hubby and I decided we weren't waiting a year to eat, so we cut slices of it so we can enjoy it every month after out wedding! We had cupcakes from Sweet Retreat for our wedding this past weekend. Delivery was right on time and they looked and tasted amazing. Our wedding guests wanted more! We ordered a cake for my sister's baby shower. It was two tiered and it was beautiful, until it destroyed itself. Here's how it happened: They advised us we did not have to refrigerate it, but if we did, take it out four hours before the event. Boy I wish we did refrigerate it because it collapsed just by sitting there. Like everything collapsed. THE SHOP WAS INCREDIBLE. They refunded our purchase and apologized for the misinformation as it should have been refrigerated. Definitely can see myself coming back here. More...

My friend, her daughter and I went this afternoon for a little shopping on 50th & France. At the last minute we decided to stop in and get a few cupcakes. On our way out the door my friend fumbled and dropped her box of treats. Aaahhh!!! I have ordered two cakes from Sweet Retreat and both of them turned out exactly like the pictures I sent them but more beautiful! One cake I ordered was an aqua/gold cake with two tiers and a peony flower on top for a baby shower. The top tier was lemon and the bottom tier was chocolate. It was moist, delicious and everyone commented on how beautiful it was. I also ordered a two tier Twinkle Twinkle Little Star birthday cake with smash cupcake for my daughter's first birthday party and I was just blown away by how beautiful it was and the chocolate and funfetti flavors couldn't be more tasty. Everyone at the party asked where we had gotten the gorgeous cake. I had an accident with the smash cake and dropped it on the floor one hour before my baby's birthday party. Sweet retreat to the rescue! They made another smash cupcake for us within 45 minutes and it looked very nice. Well here we are on a sub zero Saturday in Minnesota running in and out of shops when out the corner of my eye appears Sweet Retreat. Who can resist those wonderful cupcakes. My friend, daughter and I run across the street to the store at 50th & France. We pick out our well deserved treats and head out the door. As we walk out the door silly clumsy me drops our box. Ugh...we bend down to see what the damage is, well they have all seen a better day. Then suddenly an angel appears from inside the store and offers to get me new undropped cupcakes. We just had a Shih Tzu Rescue meeting today and one of our volunteers bought custom cupcakes from Sweet Retreat to bring to the meeting. There were two kinds: one with the most adorable Shih Tzu, furry faces and the other was our logo in fondant. Not only were these cupcakes adorable and beautiful, they were the best cupcakes and frosting that I have ever tasted. I live 20 miles away but When I make a run to 50th and France I stop for my favorite almond cupcake and usually pick up a new flavor to try. Yesterday I tried the smore cupcake and absolutely fell into cupcake heaven .. by far my favorite .. I wish I had gotten more than 2 .. the frosting was whipped marshmallow goodness with a cute mini Hershey on top !!
