I have had to leave my pets behind and hated that I spent so much time worrying about my pets being kenneled that I didn't really get to enjoy my vacation. I had never heard of pet sitting when a friend of mine told me that the pet sitting company she worked for was looking for another sitter. I worked for that company until I moved to Saginaw and decided to start The Sitter of Pawz.

We are experienced, dependable, and trained professionals. There are lessons that are learned through experience that nothing else can prepare you for. For instance, how to keep dogs and cats from darting doors and escaping. What do you do if you walk into a home that smells like gas? What do you do if the pet becomes ill? Who do you call if there's a gas leak or the AC stops working? I could go on and on! The point is that our experienced pet sitters have faced many challenges that have given them the ability to be able to think on their feet even when new challenges arise. The Sitter of Pawz has lots of checks and balances to ensure that no pet is left behind. We use scheduling software where the client can schedule the visits themselves so they can be sure that the dates and times are correct. They get a confirmation emailed to them and once the visit is done they receive a text message with pictures of their sweet babies. All of the sitters at The Sitter of Pawz have been trained in Pet First Aid and CPR. I have received my Certified Professional Pet Sitter accreditation from PSI, the leading pet sitting association. One of the requirements to maintain CPPS certification is to continue my education through courses, seminars, and trade shows. This keeps me knowledgeable on the best care practices for a multitude of animals and on ways that I can make improvements in the services we provide.

All of our services are provided at our clients' locations.

We always wear masks when we are around any people and if the client wishes us to wear a mask while they are not home we will be happy to comply. But, if no one is home we typically just wipe down surfaces before and after we touch them with antibacterial wipes and wash our hands upon entering and before leaving our clients' homes. Since each client has at least two people trained on their pets, all sitters have been instructed to call in for a replacement sitter should they experience any of the symptoms or come in contact with anyone who has been diagnosed with Covid-19.
