This hidden gem is amazing. They're reservation only. Hubby and I went for date night. The staff is super friendly and helpful. The house drinks are really good. The food is to die for. My New Orleans husband said that the Gumbo was some of the best he's had at a restaurant. The crab cakes are amazing. Make sure you order some beignets before you leave. OBSESSED!! 10/10. I was visiting Dallas from houston stopped in for lunch it was absolutely delicious i had the bread bowl pasta literally almost licked the plate it was so good, ended my appetite with the beignets they were so authentic & delicious. New to Texas area, always trying new places to eat. Came by The Pelican House and was great New Orleans style by Lou! We were given history of the restaurant as well as what the favorites on the menu are. We tried a few dishes seafood platter, crab cakes, bourbon shrimp on rice with veggies with a few other things. We were headed to Pappaduex’s and came across this gem. They do reservations only and we got lucky with a same day reservation. The food was beyond a five rating! Well seasoned and full of flavor.
