Jason Strycharz was the DJ for our wedding this past weekend, and he absolutely killed it! The dance floor was absolutely packed and he was energetic, detail oriented, and fun to work with. Our crowd loves to dance and many people told us they had never seen so many people on the dance floor all night long. The music was perfect - we wanted a high energy, modern reception and Jason delivered. I never had to worry about the music being the right type of music to keep the guests happy and on the dance floor. This DJ service uses CD's still and honestly it was all perfect. We gave him a list of songs prior to the wedding and when the wedding was over we got a CD of all the songs we requested on it!! It was perfect for our day. Shawn did an incredible job with our wedding. From our initial meeting with him, he made it clear that he could cater the event to look like whatever we wanted, and he did just that. He communicated clearly, including our check-in phone call a week or two ahead of time to go over all of the details of the ceremony, mic placements, and all song must-plays and do-not-plays. The day of our wedding, he was timely and organized, and everything went off smoothly without a hitch. We didn't ask him to emcee too much, as most of our announcements were simply and done by family members or us, but he still made sure everything was running smoothly and on time - and he was also able to adjust for when speeches or dinner went long/short. The DJing itself was also amazing - the setlist was awesome, and he denied a request for a song that was on our do-not-play list until he got our permission. We worked with Dave and he was an absolute hoot. He was super friendly, very straight forward with how DJing would work, and had an AMAZING show! ! He uses CDs, and at first we were skeptical but wow were we impressed. From the onset of communication, all of my questions and concerns were answered in a timely and professional manner. Very reasonably priced, and very detail-oriented. We had many (probably too many) songs that we really wanted to be played throughout our special day, and Brian Phoenix, our DJ, made sure to play as many as he could, and he also took some not-so-well-known requests from guests during the reception as well. My father actually went up to him before the father/daughter dance (I had no idea) and requested a 2nd song to be played after a bit of the first song we had originally decided on. Jason DJ-ed our wedding on August 24, 2019, at an outdoor venue in Saco, Maine. We couldn’t be happier with his service. We met with Jason at a local restaurant a few months before the wedding where he asked us detailed questions about our wants/needs, our vision for the wedding, our style, etc. etc. Jason was well organized and had a lot of suggestions/examples for us when we weren’t sure. He was responsive to our emails, extremely professional, but also casual enough to meet up with us like we had been friends for years and help us achieve our vision! Communication with The Music Man DJ Service was quick, easy, and effective. Mike was the DJ for our wedding. He did an excellent job following my suggested song list for the reception and kept our dance floor full all night long. He also played very nice music for our pre-ceremony, cocktail hour, and dinner. There were a few times that Mike was a bit too punctual or missed social queues - e.g. when I got to the end of the aisle for my dad to give me away, the music was still playing and it took a moment for me to catch Mike's eyes and give a nod for him to stop the music; people were still lighting the reception table candles when he asked everyone to take their seats for dinner which could have waited three more minutes; or my groom and I were walking around pouring champagne and greeting guests after dinner and before toasts, but while we were at the first table Mike announced that we should take our seats for the toast...we did and then continued with the champagne and greeting afterwards, but it would have seemed smoother and still kept us on time for the cake cutting and first dance had he waited 10 more minutes before the toast. We absolutely loved him upon introduction and had the best time working with him, we couldn’t help but dance along with cameras in our hand.
When it came time to book our own DJ we knew he would be the perfect fit. He was professional, easy to reach, and extremely personable. Our dance floor was packed ALL NIGHT. I mean from introductions until the very end. I don’t think it was ever empty. He played the perfect mix of oldies and new songs to help keep the crowd entertained. Our family and friends are still talking about how amazing he was.
We highly recommend him to all our friends and clients and can’t wait for the next opportunity to work with him.

I was recommended Music Man DJ Service after asking a friend who is very knowledgable about New England wedding DJs if they could recommend someone who would do a great job for a great price and not be over the top and cheesy while on the microphone.
I could not be more happy with this recommendation! I reached out to Music Man DJ service and within a few hours had an appointment set up with Mitch to talk about what I was looking for.
We were able to meet with Jason S, our wedding DJ, the day of our initial meeting and my fiancé and I immediately knew Music Man DJ Service was the right choice. Jason is friendly, professional, and accommodating from the get go!
As a wedding photographer myself, I just happened to be fortunate enough to shoot a wedding where Jason was the DJ just a few days after signing the contract. It was a unique but awesome opportunity to be able to work with Jason as a colleague and see him in action before my wedding day.

We were so happy with Jason! We were specific with a lot of the songs we wanted played and most, if not all of them, were not your typical wedding songs. We were given a form to fill out, which was helpful because it let us know just how much went into DJing a wedding. He was always available to answer questions (whether through email or phone ), and was great to work with throughout the whole wedding planning process. Shawn Cullen was the BEST DJ (hands down!). Shawn was professional, timely, and accommodating as we planned for our February 25th winter wedding. We had a live musician for our ceremony and cocktail hour. When we met ahead of time, Shawn coordinated and worked with the live musician to make sure that everything went seamlessly. Shawn's breadth of experience helped to guide us in the right direction to ensure that we included all of the important details. My fiance and I weren't very specific about certain songs, however, my only request was that Shawn played songs that would keep people dancing. Boy, did he deliver! Shawn played all the greatest dance party hits from each generation. I couldn't leave the dance floor! What’s the secret to keeping a party dancing all night long?
The secret to keeping the party going all night is to read your crowd. Nobody likes a DJ that doesn't pay attention when a song isn't causing people to dance. We have knowledge and experience necessary to read your guests and play the songs that will keep them on the dance floor all night. If you're okay with us accepting requests, we will gladly take requests during dance time! Requests give us insight into what you and your guests want to listen to.

We pride ourselves on being the anti-cheesy DJ service. We don't get on the microphone all night and talk. We let the music speak for itself without the need to come on the microphone every 10 minutes. Our main goal is the fulfill your wishes and your vision for the day. Every event is unique, so it's important for us to be open and flexible in our style and approach to mirror your goal for your event.
What do you love most about your job?
The best part about our job is seeing people dance and have a great time to celebrate a special occasion. When you book a DJ there's usually a positive occasion for it; whether it be a wedding, appreciation party, graduation, anniversary. We get to work for people who are excited, happy and ready to have fun! That attitude fuels our love for what we do.
Why should our clients choose you?
We pride ourselves on our ability to provide a very thorough and detailed planning structure before your event to make sure you have a fun, stress free and classy event. We take the time to sit down with you before your event to go over your song selection, your timeline and your vision to make sure we know exactly the type of vibe you want.
We also understand there are no "do overs" with an event. We make sure that all of our DJs bring back up equipment to each event just in case something breaks.
