First time customer here. I could not be more impressed with how amazing this food is! I got 6 Smoked Pork Spare Ribs, the Queen Plate which I chose pulled pork and brisket. The brisket falls apart in your mouth and the smokiness blankets your taste buds. The pulled pork was juicy and tender... magnificent. Doubled up on Mac & Cheese and I was glad I did. Classic comfort Mac& Cheese that hit the spot. I had a fresh lemonade while I waited and ended up liking it so much I bought another for the ride home. The sauces I would buy by the gallon. Some of the best quality bbq I've had outside Texas. The homemade sauces and selection they have is outstanding as well. Pulled chicken was juicy and flavorful even on its own. This is a great small bbq joint off the beaten path. Great customer service and friendly throughout. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich and 5 wings with Mac and cheese. Good portions without overdoing it. Wings were smoked with a dry rub and fried. If you eat in you choose the sauce. Mac and cheese was pretty good as well. Nice crust on the Mac and tasty!  Seems like a lot of people order door dash and grub hub through them as well. In my short time eating there both arrived to pick up orders. Update: have now tried some of the other BBQ offerings in the Capital region. Verdict: Not even close to Memphis King! From the burnt ends, to the ribs, superior to all. The Mac'n'Cheese as everyone attests is superb. Fun fact: I ordered delivery recently through GH. The order volume was high that day, and guess what? THEY CALLED ME. Yessiree, that is customer service. I was told they were making sure to hold the items in my order to ensure the food that ready first did not rest and get cold. It's these customer centric details that make successful businesses. I have been to Memphis, TN to try BBQ twice and it really is some of the best in the business. This location is a family run business in a small space in Schenectady. At my most recent visit I got talking to one of the owners and he is a really thoughtful young man. The smoker they use is out back so you know everything is being smoked on the premises.I have had takeout from Memphis King but I recommend you eat in the restaurant, just my personal preference.During one of my visits I had the spare ribs and the smoked chicken. I did not care for the ribs at all. They were humongous, like the kind Fred Flinstone would eat. They had a good smokey flavor but they were under cooked and loaded with fat. I have never been to a BBQ joint that smoked chicken without bones but that is what they are doing here. I found it to be a bit dry and would not order it again. They also smoke chicken wings which I will definitely try some other time.On another trip I tried their burnt ends and the famous fried chicken thigh sandwich. The owner asked me what kind of burnt ends I wanted and they came out looking great. They were fantastic, smokey and full of flavor. MK has many BBQ sauces to choose from and I picked a few on both trips. I enjoyed the original and everytang. The fried chicken sandwich is a must try. Wow. Cole slaw, hot sauce and cooked perfectly. Starving for BBQ, found The Memphis King online. Will definitely be going back. Ordered fried chicken thighs, pulled pork, burnt brisket ends, Mac and cheese, collard greens, and corn bread. Total bill:  $29.00. Brought it home and fell in love with this food. The fried chicken was crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. And, the pieces were huge!  The pulled pork and brisket were moist and flavorful and the sauce they gave on the side was delicious!  Mac and cheese was homemade and delicious as well. The cornbread was different than any I had before. Heavier and darker, and the best I've ever had. They close at 6:00, or when they run out. You can order early in the day and they'll save you some. This was my third time gave a meal from Memphis Bbq. I had the burnt ends and a side of beans!  The burnt ends are delicious. The have a great bark on them with just the right amount of smoke. The beans are cooked to perfection with a nice tang to them. My daughter had "piggy fries" which I had to taste. Nicely seasoned fries with pulled pork and Mac and cheese on top. The next time I grab some bbq I am going to force myself to try something else.  This is a place that is definitely worth the trip across town. RE-review time kids!Imagine, if you will, a Tuesday evening after crap-tastic day at the ole' grind factory. With a hunger gnawing at your belly with the intensity of a linebacker. Love, love, love the Barbecue from Memphis King.  We recently got takeout for dinner from here and everything was outstanding.  We ordered three Princess combo. meals & they even threw in an extra side of Mac & Cheese--thank you Memphis King!!  Had the brisket, pulled pork & chicken wings along with baked beans, coke slaw, potato salad & the extra macaroni & cheese.  Every bit was devoured along with super moist & tasty cornbread!  Have to agree with many on here, this Barbecue is one of, if not, the best in the Capital Region!!!  Highly recommend & can't wait to order off the catering menu for our next party! It took me a long time to come to The Memphis King Bbq, but I'm sure glad I did. As soon as I walked through the door I could tell the food was going to be fantastic. I ordered the Queen which comes with 2 meats, 2 sides, a drink and cornbread. I went with the ribs and brisket with double Mac and cheese. First, the ribs were absolutely phenomenal. The flavor was out of this world, the meat was so tender it fell right off the bone. The ribs were juicy and had lots of meat on the bones. They were easily in my top 3 for best ribs. Next, the brisket was outstanding. It was tender, juicy, and flavorful. Every bite made me wanting more. Also, the Mac and cheese was delicious. It was cheesy, not dry, and the noodles were cooked to perfection. The cornbread was solid as well. It was moist and tasty. Schenectady is a far drive for me, but this food is definitely worth it. I think that Memphis King may very well be the best BBQ in the Greater Albany area.But let's​ save that contentious debate for another day. Anyway, what I'm going to​ encourage​ you to get isn't BBQ.What I can say with much more certainty is The Memphis King's "Fried Chicken Thigh Sandwich" is most definitely​ among the best such sandwiches​ in our beloved Capital Region.In my mind, chicken breast doesn't hold a candle to thigh meat, especially when breaded, fried, covered with coleslaw​ and hot sauce, and placed between two soft buns. That combo is magic, and Memphis King does it justice.The two thighs on my sandwich​ were flavorful, crunchy, and tender. It's a big sandwich too, and worth every penny of the eight dollars they charge for it. The coleslaw adds needed moisture and turns the thing into a gloriously messy meal. There are two picnic tables outside that were available since we go there for a late lunch. Sadly, all the ribs were sold out! Yikes, I should've read the reviews earlier and called to reserve. Anyways, we were still so happy with our meal! We got the
-burnt ends of brisket : great smokey strong BBQ flavor
-smoked wings : best I've ever had-crispy, nice dry rub and juicy inside
-mac and cheese : crispy and cheesy
-beans : yum made with brisket meat (I think)
-corn bread : fresh and sweet

-Service : wonderful, friendly and welcoming!

SO MUCH YUM! Right off the rip I'll let you know that I'm not a fan of bbq food but my husband is so we tried this place. We've been coming back ever since . There's something for everybody. In a capital region full of crap food options, this bbq establishment is a standout. Meat tastes fresh (brisket,burnt ends), good smoke on everything. Only critique I have is the sauces are all too sweet, cut back some sugar so some of the other flavors shine through, even the collards tasted like they had some sugar in there, not needed, throw a splash of acid in there to brighten the lot.
