These guy! I have been eaten food from them for years. One of my favorite foods on the planet. I've eaten at their food cart in Hood River, on, Powell, Sandy And they have catered from my office. They always knock it out of the park. The menu is so tasty. I have to have it once a week. The owner cracks me up every time I run into him. It's like he's part of my family. I hope you can all enjoy this place and put food in your belly. More...

I started eating at this food cart while I was a student at PSU and never once have had a bad experience. The food was and still is consistently great. My husband and I had The Local Grind cater our wedding last month and it was an incredible experience from start to finish! Robert and Larry were both wonderful to work with and made things run smooth through the planning process and the event. We love your guys' food and will absolutely continue eating at the food cart. Great chicken options and their sauces are wonderful. It’s really nice being able to add all the sauce you want. If you like macaroni salads, I would definitely recommend ordering a side of it with your meal. The portions are reasonable but the food seems a bit overpriced considering it’s a relatively casual food cart and not a sit-down restaurant. However, good tasting food overall and the wait’s not too long since everything is precooked. More...

Just ordered from this place through Seemless, and it was freaking incredible! I'm a simple guy, so I ordered the Chicken Teriyaki with no vegetables, and I was blown away! I couldn't get enough of the hot sauce that came with my order, it mixed with the teriyaki to create an incredible sauce. I will definitely be a regular! More...

I really like The Local Grind. I went to PSU for five years and having their food cart on campus in between my classes, you could imagine I've eaten their food many many times. I always order the kalua pulled pork or their shredded BBQ chicken. Always with rice and always with mac salad. I hate macaroni salads but for some reason I have a thing for Hawaiian mac salad and particularly THIS mac salad. It's about an $8 meal, give or take, so expect to pay that when you go. I like that they keep their sauces and sriracha on the counter so you can adjust your meal the way you like it..nice and spicy and saucy. I've never had a bad experience, but two suggestions: the meat could be strained a lot better with a different utensil before put on top of the rice..every time I go the juices make the rice so soggy because there's SO much juice from the chicken or pork in the pan. Please hear me out when I suggest that. Just drain it better before serving it. Also, could you try and add some spam musubi It'd be such a great add to the cart downtown because it's a great Hawaiian snack and it's hand held for students on the go. Plus it's hard to find so you'd be loved! Mahalo for the great Hawaiian food! More...

CANT SAY ENOUGH GOOD THINGS! They catered our wedding dinner for 150 on location in Washington, AND they provided an amazing breakfast the next morning for 110 (again on site). They have exceptional food, service and were easy to work with on contracts, payment and meal alternatives (gluten free/vegan options). The owner is amazing and is greatly concerned about quality of food and presentation which we really appreciated. We love eating here for dinner just us two, but would also HIGHLY recommend them for catering an event. More...

And we got three orders of their macaroni salad. I'm going to be back soon. My favorite was the teriyaki chicken and the macaroni salad was heavenly. I have been to the Local grind many times throughout the years. I always look forward to them relocating from PSU to the Ira Keller fountain during the summer. Â The food is always fantastic. This year there are two people working there. One is a guy with longer hair and he is the nicest guy gives out a good portion and I am never hungry after he serves me. The other is younger. He always skimps on the rice portion. You ask for a large and basically get a small. When he is working I am generally still hungry. The guy with the longer hair gets a 5 for service and the younger guy a 3 so it averages out to a 4. Their BBQ sauce is very good. More...

I ordered delivery from here recently and was not disappointed. I purchased the Island Burger and was satisfied; I didn't put any sauce on it and thought the burger tasted fresh and the pineapple was that iconic bit of flavor that I crave in Hawaiian food. The macaroni salad was also tasty. Definitely look forward to going in person - however some of the information here is wildly out of date. More...

I was taking the 19 bus and looked out the window to see this beautiful Hawaiian BBQ oasis. I wasn't sure it was actually there and ended up walking back from the stop to discover the tasty goodness of The Local Grind. I had the yakisoba with chicken teriyaki. The flavors were on point. Michael: my girl and I eat here once a week. The chicken tastes quite fresh as if it's not frozen in a freezer somewhere; very tender . Flavor is very good. While there are only a handful of menu options, each one is very good. The simplicity of what is being offered (chicken or pork and rice) seems as though it may be unsatisfactory, but the flavor of the ingredients makes this a perfect lunch. Jen: I love this chicken! Before I discovered this place by PSU, I wasn't a huge fan of chicken. Their flavor is unmatchable. It's way better than Panda Express's teriyaki chicken. very little fat, but so juicy! Never dry!
