Great restaurant with a beautiful view on to the river! The food was delicious, the crab cakes were amazing! The inside area of the restaurant looks like you can have bigger parties over there and rent certain rooms. The outside patio was very comfortable and again offered a very nice view on to the river. I think this curious old landmark on the landward side of the GW Parkway has been here forever. I've seen it through numerous incarnations over the years as I drove by or ran by it on the bicycle path. There have been some times since the 1980s when it seemed to go to seed, but happily Chef Andrew seems to have brought new life to the old place, a virtual renaissance! The menu is diverse and the wine list well conceived, and the staff is welcoming, friendly and helpful, They host occasional happy hours with live music and dancing, or movies that, weather permitting, are shown outdoors on the front lawn. We had brunch at Cedar Knoll and was immediately impressed by the charm and service. The staff was warm and welcoming and that, paired with the cozy interior, was the perfect cure for a cold wet winter morning. The food was excellent and filling. We recently hosted an 80th birthday party for 10 women at Cedar Knoll. Everything was superb! Chef Andrew worked with me to create a chef's tasting menu and even added a wine pairing for each course. Sophie, our server was incredible! The food was amazing and they even printed special menus with the birthday girl's name. I want to thank Cedar Knoll for the absolutely exquisite dining experience they provided for us to celebrate our son and daughter-in-law's wedding. The groom’s dinner was everything we could have hoped for and more; the room was warm and inviting, the champagne was very good, and the food and whiskey/wine pairings were excellent! The group all had a wonderful evening; we heard several times over the following days how much everyone enjoyed themselves.
