We used Jason for both our girls weddings this year. We could not be happier! From the music to the lighting to the indoor fireworks… everything was perfect. I wanted to share an amazing experience I had with The D'Jay Company recently. Unfortunately, my original DJ cancelled on me last minute, leaving me incredibly stressed out. A friend of mine recommended The D'Jay Company, specifically mentioning someone named Jay who had provided excellent service in the past. I decided to give them a call and Jay answered on the second ring. I explained my situation and he immediately reassured me that everything would be taken care of. He promptly set up a Zoom meeting and began working on the arrangements. To my surprise and delight, Jay himself showed up on the day of the event instead of sending one of his DJs. He introduced himself and then proceeded to rock the party. Everything was flawless. Jay had not only prepared a playlist, but he had also created a master playlist to ensure every detail was covered. With the help of Jay and his team, along with some additional assistance, my grandson's first birthday turned out to be the best! I cannot recommend The D'Jay Company enough. They are more than just a DJ company; they genuinely care about their clients and go above and beyond to make sure everything goes smoothly. We've used their services to put on 2 large-scale college parties and plan on continuing to use them for all our future events. Unfortunately, our experience with the D Jay Company was not great. There was lack of communication and planning from the company. They were unresponsive until two days before our wedding. The DJ did not play the requested versions of our ceremony songs, the first dance, nor did he play much of our playlist. Seems the DJ played his own playlist… very poorly planned and noticeable. We have nothing but good things to say about Jay and his team. We had the pleasure of working with Michael Palacios the day of, and he showed up on time and was extremely prepared and ready with all of the music genres we requested. Not only that but he was our emcee for the evening and was amazing at keeping everything on track and most importantly everyone on the dance floor! He truly was ready to get down with us! One star because he showed up on time, one more because people danced and he played music. Ultimately though me and my now wife only have bad memories from our experience with DJay Company. He played the wrong song for my wifes walkout song, disregarded our schedule and guided people into the dining room through a completely different door so they dodged our seating chart and guest book, and worst of all he tried to skip the father daughter dance and tried to blame us because he couldn't find our song. His system for uploading songs is archaic and instead of him asking for clarification if he doesn't understand what song you want or if he cant find it he will just skip it. Absolutely horrible! Disgusted to say the least. We sent him a deposit last year and now that our wedding is coming up, we have decided to go with someone else. We never signed a contract with him nor did he discuss that we would not get our deposit back. He then starts telling me that I'm a bad father because I tell him that I didn't want to argue with him with my son in the car. I thought he was supposed to be professional??? He then tells me that I can sue him if I want, there's been many people that have tried suing him, is what he tells me. He continues to keep on telling me a story about how he didn't give a client her 1500 deposit back as well. He then tells me "if I wanted to be the nice guy I would and give you your money back, but I'm not going to" Stay away from this dj!!! First and foremost, I will say that we started out on a good note. Fast forward to now, we’re getting close to our wedding date and me & my husband have not heard from him. We had to be the ones to reach out to him. We tell him we want to cancel because my father in law gifted us a dj with someone else and he tells us we cannot get our deposit back. I understand if we would’ve signed a contract, but we NEVER signed a contract with him NOR did he ever tell us we wouldn’t get our deposit back. My husband had a conversation with him over the phone and when my husband told him we deserve our refund back, he proceeded to tell my husband that he wasn’t a good father!!! He was harassing him and saying “I’ve gotten sued multiple times”… like?? What?? DO NOT SERVICE THIS DJ!!! He also proceeded to tell us that he did not give another client their $1500 deposit back during covid. Seems like this is something he does a lot! Stay awayyyyy!!! We’re already pursuing legal action against him. He told us, “you want to sue me for $300 okay”, again, harassing us. DO NOT NOT NOT RECOMMEND!!! As a photographer, I had the pleasure of working with The D'Jay Company at a recent wedding. Overall, I was extremely impressed with their services and professionalism. Firstly, their equipment was top-notch. They had a wide selection of high-quality sound systems and lighting equipment, which helped to create a dynamic and engaging atmosphere at the event. As a photographer, I always appreciate good lighting, and the lighting setup provided by The D'Jay Company really made my job much easier. The dance floor was well-lit, which meant that I was able to capture some great action shots of the guests dancing and having a great time. In addition, their music selection was excellent. They played a range of genres that catered to all ages and tastes, and they were happy to take requests from guests. What really stood out to me, though, was the way they interacted with the guests. J was friendly and approachable, and he made sure to keep the dance floor packed throughout the night. They also made sure to announce important moments like the cake cutting and the first dance, which helped to keep the event running smoothly. So before I start, I WILL say overall people danced and they were affordable! Additionally, I was always able to get in communication with them. I am not sure if I just have high standards as someone who loves music and loves to dance but I wasn’t completely happy for my wedding day (most important day of my life). They utilize a website tool where you choose music to “guide” them. Well, our DJ was way OFF at the START of the night, he confused old school reggae with hip hop, as well as kicked off our wedding with a song on my “ DO NOT PLAY” list, at which once I spoke to him- he quickly corrected. However; he did not seem prepared for the music I wanted. He did play mostly Latin music which is what we wanted but we ALSO wanted country and a hint of pop and disco. I hired this company about a year in advanced and continued to stress that the music was the MOST important aspect for me and I will admit there were times I told my groom- I didn’t want to dance. Also- I wanted RAGGAE music for my dinner hour and yes he played it AFTER I told him but he co to yes to play covers…. That is not old SCHOOL RAGGAE (I.e. bob Marley). Again, they were affordable, had an awesome Photo Booth….but overall wasn’t on the same page I was day of the wedding which is not professional to me. I would recommend if you are a very hands off type of Bride and looking for an affordable DJ. They got the Job done but I was not impressed and pretty annoyed when they played songs I specifically asked not to. I had an awesome experience leading up to the wedding with Jay. He Worked with my budget worked with any additions to the packet and gave me even a second DJ so the transition would be smooth from the outside reception to the indoor club due to a noise ordinance. But when it came down to the most important part, the actual wedding, I was utterly disappointed. He played good music while we were outside and the Sparklers were awesome but once we went into the club, for one, we didn’t get that 2nd DJ (who was suppose to be more of a club dj) and two, it seemed to us he played certain music so that everyone wanted to leave so he could go home… We asked him to play numerous songs of bad bunny, j balvin etc. and he deliberately played the worst songs he could find of them. As a big DJ company that claimed they knew how to throw a party, they definitely knew how to kill a party.
