The Aerial Studio

I just saw the TAS Performance Troupe biannual show.  It was absolutely delightful!  Based on what I saw, there are several years of up and coming cirque artists training at the studio.  The performers range from early twenties to five or six.  They are all shockingly talented.  I enjoyed every moment of the show which was packed with amazing aerial, tumbling, trampoline, contortion and dance.  If you are an adult who wants to try the circus arts, they have a lot of options.  If you have a child you think would enjoy this, their program is awesome.  If you just want to enjoy some amazing performances, get on their mailing list.  Its a great way to see a great cirque performance just an arm's length from your seat! This is a great activity!  My daughter loves it!  I also tried and class and what an amazing experience I had!  I thought I was in good shape until I tried this class.  They also have Yoga.  The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly.  The teachers have been very helpful and it's a very welcoming environment. My daughter and I went for the first time today.  We had a great time.  It has been over 2 years since I have done anything.  While my daughter is very fit.  We both were able to get a excellent workout at our level.  Nicole was great challenging me without any negative vibes.  Everyone was able to excel at their level.  I highly recommend this studio for those that are not physically fit.  This will defiantly get me fit without the negative pressures on my bad knee.  I can't wait to get the abs and arms of the others in the class! I attended a Friday morning Aireal Yoga class with a group of friends for a girls day. We booked our spots online because we had a large group, but I understand people usually just drop in. The teacher, Lori, was fantastic and the class was a lot of fun. I wasn't sure what to expect, but it was much like regular yoga with the addition of a hammock. We used the hammock for stretching, some TRX-like exercises, an inversion, and savasana. It was kind of awkward at first, but we all were able to do the inversion. I didn't feel like I was getting too intense a workout at the time, but for the next few days my whole body was sore! I really appreciated that Lori gave us different modification options and encouraged us to go at our own pace.The studio was very clean and well-maintained. I'll definitely go again! More...

Very fun aerial yoga class.  The instructor was really warm, encouraging and made the new experience amazing.  They also have an amazing deal for new students/clients for a very inexpensive monthly rate unlimited classes.  The only bummer is that I broke my toe getting out of the "star" pose and, by doctor's orders could return for at least a month!  So, while it turned out to be a very expensive first and last class for my month, I'd recommend it for anyone who would like to try a new yoga practice!  Just be careful with your toes! I love the Aerial studio! I am absolutely addicted to all of the classes! The teachers are fantastic, it's like being with family. Both of my kids even go there now, one for aerial classes which she loves and the other for the surf training to help him better his surfing/skateboarding skills. This is such a welcoming place!  It doesn't matter what level you start or how uncoordinated, out of shape, you'll find out what you're capable of and the instructors will make sure you have a fun/relaxing safe time.  I came in with some knowledge of yoga and the aireal studio has really helped my practice in the last year.   If you're not ready to commit take a $5 community class!  I love the online signup. This is another cool studio I found via MINDBODY connect. They appear to offer a wide variety of classes including yoga and AlReal. The cool thing about them is the also offer $5 community class, which is an opportunity for those in the area to experience certain classes in an effort to bring the community together. I've attended a hatha yoga and alreal yoga class at the community rate. Very good experience in both situations. They seemed to cater to the inexperienced in both instances and the instructors did an excellent job of guiding through the poses. Carmen Curtis is one of the best Aerial Yoga teachers out there. After searching for programs for some time I want to inform Yogini's out there that Carme's Aireal Yoga program is up to par for serious Aerialist's and Yogi's. Carmen is a devoted yogi and and Aerialist herself. Her knowledge of the body and the principals of yoga make an alchemical blend. I have been taking aerial classes since May and I can say this place has completely changed my life.  Before, I was out of shape and feeling uninspired.  Since even the very first day coming to the beginner's aerial class, I've felt uplifted and empowered.  And I've gotten so much stronger!  Carmen and the other instructors are AMAZING.  Even when I'm feeling down, they show me what I CAN do.  I've gone from not even being able to lift myself up to being able to climb and flip upside down.  I've lost weight, gained strength and flexibility, and re-lit up that spark inside me!  People are always asking me now what I'm doing, how I look so great - and I tell them - I'm doing  most fun thing EVER!!!  Airealistic is seriously the best thing that's happened to me since I got engaged this year =). I tried Aerial Yoga today. I have a low back injury and let me tell you, do not be afraid...be smart and slow...it opened up my low back in a way I haven't been able to in years. This class and this place blew my mind. I LOVE it. It was fun, it was a challenge, it evaporated stress from my body AND, my dance buddies out there....,you will appreciate that the very end makes you feel like a very slowly, floating whirling dervish...it was like that whirling dervish scene in the movie "The Fall".  Oh Ventura, you just got a little shinier. P.s. She uses a little aromatherapy. Divine, but pipe up before class if you have scent related allergies. More...

Airealistic is my 8 year old daughter's favorite place to go after school, she would take all of her friends with if she could! Coach Andy is EXCELLENT!!! He loves his job and it shows, he's so good with the kids! The gym is fun, lots of equipment to use. Various different types of lessons for all ages, children through adult. Parents can exercise while the child has open gym time! So glad we found this wonderful space to play and exercise in! Thank you Airealistic Circus & Flying School!!!! More...
