Well, I don't ALWAYS think about it, as Master Curran will probably suppose. Still an old friend wonders if there isn't a chance of a current photo of the top "dog?"

I was a former student about 17yrs ago, at Steve Curran Karate. I competed and practiced the art as a teenager, also well into my 20's and have recently rejoined the dojo to continue my training. It is a passion of mine and I can't think of any other better dojo to train at that is as good as Steve Curran Karate. Best in the northwest and I am very proud to be a part of this Dojo again. :) More...

Great place to be, everyone is encouraged to participate. Boys and girls, teens and adults.
I am a nanny and my 6 yr old has been there 1 year . .. he's developing discipline, always encouraged and he has earned his jr purple belt.
Structured strategic positive classes
Peer to peer support
Excellent instructors
Even if you don't think your child is athletic .... get them in for a free trial class.
Check it out, you have nothing to lose and everything to gain

Love love love this place. I don’t think I’ve ever given a 5 star review before. Kaicho is simply the best. Such a good teacher. Very passionate. The students are a team, a family. My boys love it. Have twins enrolled. One twin has zero interest in it. Saw how much fun his brother was having, saw how much he learned and enrolled the next month. I now have two 6 year olds who LOVE their little dragons class. This place is an asset to proctor district. More...

One of the BEST decisions I ever made was to take my family to this dojo! Kaicho Steve Curran and Soke Suzanne Curran run a professional school where students are taught the art of karate and the discipline of life. They are able to take students of all ages and physical abilities and help them to develop their talents and learn to defend themselves. Students learn to focus, concentrate, follow directions, and develop confidence as they work to perfect techniques in a family friendly environment. I highly recommend this school!!! More...

I've been a student here for almost 7 years. It's one of the best things I've done for myself and I recommend Martial Arts to anyone. That doesn't mean it's for everyone. As far as concern over contracts go, I suppose I understand it to a certain extent; the uncertainty, the difficulty of trying something new, fear of failure. I've been through all of that and still love this school. I don't know what the practices are at other traditional schools, but a 6-12 month contract seems pretty standard. How different are gym memberships at franchise operations? In any case, I encourage anyone curious, interested or excited about Martial Arts to give a dojo a try. You can better judge a school once you've been there. Make your own decision. You might keep it for the rest of your life. More...
