I hate to leave feedback like this because I do not like hurting a small business but I feel I’m obligated to alert other couples planning their wedding.
We had our wedding at Whitestone Inn, which was absolutely gorgeous. They do not allow alcohol to be served there so we decided to spend extra money on the food to make it very special. We scheduled a tasting with Dee, the owner of tasteful gatherings, and it was fantastic, absolutely amazing. We decided to hire her right away. We went all out and ordered the prime rib and a beautiful chicken dish that we had tasted, as well as hors d’oeuvres and artisan rolls, side, salad, etc. It was quite a bit more expensive than the competition but we were sure that Dee would make it worth our while. Unfortunately, the day of our wedding we were horrified to find out that we were completely incorrect regarding tasteful gatherings. They served what they called prime rib and it was roast beef no doubt, I asked several of my guest if they thought it was prime, ribeye or roast beef, and nobody said prime rib everyone claimed it was roast beef, and so do I. The rolls were rock hard and inedible, and the chicken was dry, and nothing like the samples we have been given. There was a funny taste in the unsweet iced tea like a sour rag. I did try to work this out with the owner before posting a review but the owner was kind enough to give us a $100 gift card after destroying our wedding dinner. I did tell her that I was not going to be satisfied with that. I would recommend hiring a different catering company if you want something special and delicious.
In favor of tasteful gatherings, they did decorate our plates with an orchid on top, which made it look pretty. Unfortunately, it was not good to eat.

Working with Dee and her team was amazing. As a wedding coordinator Tasteful Gathering was everything you can imagine in meeting the needs that you have. We had some last minute changes in our wedding plans, which forced us to secure a caterer within 10 days. Dee and her team took the challenge and delivered. They had a variety of menu options, their menus are vegan and vegetarian friendly. The food was great, and we had plenty of food. They added creativity into their display and were able to help on the spot to add to the cake table decoration. Melissa their on site coordinator was amazing and went above and beyond. Not only did they help keep the food replenish, they also managed the kitchen, and even helped with decoration. Once they arrived to the location my stress level as a coordinator went down, because they knew their stuff, and they came prepared. Dee and her team were an absolutely joy to work with. Despite my wedding being during peak season, she made time to meet with me several times and iron out just exactly what I was wanting. When it came to the day of, everyone arrived on time and set up very efficiently. The bartender was very friendly and made sure to have drinks ready for both my husband and me whenever we approached. Let me tell you! This place is amazing. We had them cater for our wedding of 150-180 people. They served my husband and I to make sure we sat down to eat. They cleaned up plates to make more room for our guests to mingle and eat dessert. We had AMAZING food. Great selection of food to choose from. They were incredible! Dee was so quick and responsive and came up with a menu to meet our custom needs within an hour of emailing her. We hired her the same day because she was so organized and professional! They've catered our dinner parties and made special-order chicken soup for me when I was ill. I once told them I was hungry for a country meal of pinto beans and cormbread and it appeared two hours later! Our guests commented that this was the best wedding food they'd had! The caterer was super helpful every step of the way. My only (small) complaint is that we should have been more specific regarding the cocktail hour - several guests felt the appetizers were taken away too quickly ... They loved them and wanted more! What’s your signature dish?
We are known for our Fried Green Tomato Sliders in the appetizer category. For entrees we make a wonderful Stuffed Chicken Breast served with Fresh Vegetables.
How do you go about creating the perfect menu for your clients?
Our menus are created by asking our clients a series of questions in order to better understand what they are hoping for. Once that has been determined then I can guide them step by step on how to achieve what they are looking for.
What do you love most about your job?
My passion is the people! I love the process of getting to know them and making their dreams come true!
What inspired you to start your own business?
I was the Event Coordinator for a country club and that is where I fell in love with working to make peoples dreams come true. I wanted the creative freedom to go beyond the normal experience so I started my own business.
